Well, that’s that then. It’s ended with a whimper, sadly. No one can take away the good times, and we can maybe be happy that we haven’t been there to see this season’s implosion in the flesh. Thanks for everything, Chris, and all the best for the future.

Tomorrow though is the first day of the next era for the Blades. There’s every chance we’ll make a good fist of things, and that some of the stink of failure and infighting can be let go. COYRAWW! Who’s with me? I’ll be exactly the same tomorrow as I was today, and yesterday, and last year, and every year since I can remember - a Blade.

Chris Wilder is most likely the best manager we'll have for another 20-30 years, doesn't mean he was without fault or was easy to work with, and it doesn't mean whoever comes next is going to be absolute shite.

No-one remaining at the club is immune to criticism for this state of affairs, but they've got a chance to try and make up for it, so I'll support them if they'll do that. I mean I'll support them regardless, but I'll happily support them if they look like they're attempting to rectify this shit, and angrily support them from a distance if they continue to play/act like a bunch of pillocks.

I think the players will be raring to go tomorrow. And that’ll be quite annoying.

Definitely. No one is immune to criticism - owners, managers, players, even fans - but we’re all part of the same team and the special thing about the last cohort of that group (the fans) is that we’re eternal*.

*with the exception of those couple of nutters who said they weren’t supporting us any more when the rumours first broke

Looking at it from a very different angle, although I don't envy whoever it is their task, how fortunate is the next permanent manager that we've had this season?

Imagine if Wilder had left for a bigger job during the summer. Imagine the absolute shite the new bloke would have copped for this season's debacle.

We all wanted Chris to stay, but for me the sooner the infighting stops the better, we can do without a divided fanbase.
A new era starts tomorrow at Leicester.. Good luck to Chris, and thanks for the memories.. UTMFB!
