If NM was your "No.1 target" (per RC), then OMcB must have been your No.2 target.

And if we were asking the same price as you were subsequently prepared to pay for McBurnie, then why wouldn't we have accepted your money?

Oh yeah, because the player wasn't willing to accept the only PL offer open to him, preferring instead to stay in the Championship with fucking Brentford.

That must be it
We were after both but maupay failed wilders character test
We only sign hungry players with a desire to do well for their team
You can keep that money grabbing little mercenary hope he ends up at Villa

Genuine question.......how many players (and who) have we let go/sold that we wanted to/should have kept? I assume most would have kept Brooks but as he funded other incoming players, it wasn't too much of a loss was it?

Incidently Brooks won’t be playing against us first game. Out for while. Surgery needed on an ankle injury I think against Brentford other night.

I was upset about Tudor leaving. My dad hadn't planned in going to our next away game (Oxford) but decided to go and my disappointment got eased. We won 2-1 and I was surprised to see that one of our new signings sported a beard!

One of best line ups although have to admit never a Barnwell fan

Both Barnwell and Hodgkinson had already played their last game for us. Hope made his debut at the Oxford game and Barlow played instead of Barnwell. Peter Howard wrote in the Green Un the following week of his disgust at a fan who, before the match, yelled at Barlow (stepping out of the team coach) "BARLOW!, you **!"

I also wish you good luck for the season. Proper club is Brentford and I’ve had some enjoyable chats with your fans over the years.

It seems CW was prepared to agree a fee potentially rising to £20m for McB but not for NM. And he never claimed that NM was his number 1 target. I actually think he wanted them both, but NM hasn’t shown the credentials needed to become one of our players under our current management team.

I doubt very much that Maupay has now been excluded forever...

Really? There are a lot of injuries in football. You must spread the sympathy very thin...
Any that I hear about or see, yeah. If it's something serious. Don't see how that's particularly controversial to be fair. Unless you're still salty about being called out over a spelling mistake.

Perhaps you should introduce a weekly ‘injury sympathy’ slot? You could include regular updates on the Bournemouth ‘lad’.

I can’t remember which home game it was but this was the season Frank Barlow produced one of the worst performances that I’ve ever seen in a Blades shirt. He was shocking, couldn’t do a single thing right, but he was obviously scared witless because of the stick some fans were giving him. Barlow started off ok for us, he was an intelligent bloke academically and it seemed to show in his thoughtful play, but his form really nosedived around this time and never recovered.

Yes, he was a clever player and was a good passer. He wasn't strong or fast enough so TC had to do the tackling in the middle etc until we signed Hockey.
