The second photo does look very much like Jagielka so I would guess that he's the only signing wrapped up at this stage and that talk of two or even three signings is inaccurate.

It’s clear it’s jags and the club think it’s significant given his history.

Jags is on his way down and that's why Everton released him. I can't see him replacing Egan or JOC. I don't even see him replacing Stearman

Regarding wages, 'back up players' don't normally get paid significantly less than starters, especially if they're challenging for a spot in the 11. Wilder has also spoken about maybe playing a more defensively minded RCB in the prem for games that we don't expect to have lots of possession in the opposition's half.

Imo it’s not bad if it’s low risk and brings pl experience - my overall issue is the squad needs to get a lot younger at some point. The pl money is the right time to do this imo.

Most of our players key are 28- 32 and and we risk their ability dropping off with age. We had the second oldest championship starting line us I believe

That’s how I see it. Jags has always been part of the Sheff Utd family.
He’s a model pro, massive experience and will be a positive influence in the dressing room.

Don't think it helps that some individuals on twatter indicate that there's more than just the one signing to come imminently. Stirs up excitement over signing any potential player whether it's Maupay or someone else. That'll be part of the reason some are underwhelmed.
