Can’t stand Madine and not sure where he’d fit into our system. We have Clarke for that role? He’s also a shithouse and has been a nob to our club and captain on more than one occasion. Why even risk upsetting Billy whilst he’s in the form of his life?

Madine is a far better targetman than Clarke. Clarke can’t head the ball, Madine is an animal in the air.

This will be a good signing as long as he doesn’t upset the Apple cart.

But he will. Our players like a drink and he can’t take a drink. Do you think he could take the clowning about by Duffy and coutts

In Wilder we trust. He won't sign unless Wilder believes he won't damage team chemistry and will be effective.
I'm happy if wilder has made the decision. I doubted wilder by the end of last season and I was wrong and he was right. Get him signed, it will take some bridge building but if he does it for us like other ex pigs have what have we got to lose? If he don't tow the line he'll be the next Woodburn

I fucking hate Madine.

If he helps us get promoted I’ll forgive him though.

Goods attitude to have IMO

It’s that aspect of fucking squad morale up I’m concerned about. But suppose we can just fuck him off. Reckon him and Leon will be the first spat f there is one
Think playing for us will make him the player he could be.

Wilder takes players opinions into account before any signing. He will only sign if Sharp and the rest of the players are alright with it, that’s a fact.

Wilder also has a no dickhead rule, if he starts acting a dickhead he will get fucked off, also a fact.

And the tactically inept everything must be on the floor brigade won’t like this but he’s exactly the sort of player we need. Just like Hanson was brought in to be a big fucking target and see us over the line in league one, madine is a championship jimmy Hanson. That’s needed in some games, that’s a fact too.

We also have the highest amount of crosses in the league, and madine is somebody that wins fucking headers.

And no I’m not too happy about this signing from a moral point of view but I think it will work so fuck everything else.

I for one will believe it when I see it. Can’t say I’d be thrilled at all and even if the current squad were fine with it I see huge divisions in the fan base but Wilder likes risk and reward and for all I despise Madine you have to back Wilder. It would be a mighty brave call but an absolute master stroke IF he helped us to the promised land

Great post....that’s the situation in a nutshell. Wilder will have done due diligence on Madines character.
I’ve been saying for weeks that when we get a corner we may as well just give the other team a goal kick
Because we only have Egan and OConnell who offer any physical presence, so don’t look like scoring at corners.
In league 1 we struggled badly when teams parked the bus...we bought Hansen and he made us look dangerous again.

Although Madine (like Hanson) lacks ability, he is a massive physical presence and a big nuisance to opposition teams.
He’s totally different to any striker we have so will offer Wilder a different tactical option and impact player as sub.

Sorry to bear what will be unpopular news to some, but Zohore interest dead and Madine deal is all signed and sealed, pending a medical. Interest remains in Piazon plus one or two others, may have those names by tomorrow.

I hope your account has been hacked :(

Is Wit still credible because he doesn't seem to know anything about it on the old twatter.

Really though, have no issue with him as a player, I think any half capable striker would get goals in our team, just a shame about him as a person.

If the players are alright with it, and Wilder wants him, then it's only an issue if we let it be. Not saying get his face on a flag, but get behind the team as a whole.

Warnock spent 6m on Madine to get a plan B to get them promoted.

We're potentially having the same player just on loan.

If he has put his issues behind him (no recent incidents of note) and he's a good trainer then you need to take it on its merits.

All that stuff with Billy is nothing. They must have come across each other many times in the same city and it's probably harmless banter between players.

I'm more concerned that he hasn't scored much of late.

If we need a n other big lump as a last 20 mins option ..there must be better and fitter players than this cock. End ....

Dont see why him ..others in same mould if we really need a big lump

Ain't gonna happen ...and waste of a loan and wages tbh

Yes, but in all seriousness did he actually have much impact in aiding that? That’s a genuine question – all I can recall is he didn’t score once, I can’t recall if he assisted any key goals (either directly or by creating chaos).

I am not thrilled by this. But, if it happens, and if it doesn’t upset the place, it is a very different option to have in the squad.

He had two assists. One against us!

Sort of player Wendy fans would mock if we sign him, he scores a few, then they'll be saying they should have got him in! Imagine for the Derby him, Clarke, Sharp all in the matchday squad. They'd be dreading any of them scoring!

United strike me as having a strong dressing room so I'd imagine anyone coming in we'll get the best of and they'll know to focus on the job at hand. It's not as if he's a lifelong Owl. He's from Gateshead isn't he? He would bring something different and I don't think that means we just hoof it, it means others like Billy will not be holding the ball up and we can put aerial crosses in with more confidence.

In a strange way my concern is we bring someone in who is too good that they expect to start all the games and that upsets the apple cart for example what happened with Asprilla at Newcastle. Great player but didn't quite fit.

Some people are writing Clarke off and encouraging this signing, you honestly couldn’t make it up.

Different sort of players though really.

I don't let my love for the Blades affect my moral judgement on players. I won't suddenly start liking Madine if we sign him. I think he's a detestable human being and I don't care how good he is, morals DO come before football for me. I think it would be a disastrous move if we sign him - he'll cause upset in the dressing room and I just don't think it's worth taking the risk.

Let's hope this is just a wind-up. There are better players than him out there that wouldn't be such a risk. If he does sign then I will treat him the same as I treated Marlon King when he signed. I won't boo him - but I won't applaud him either, or acknowledge any contribution he makes to the team. I'll just ignore him because that's the contempt I think he deserves.

“How do you feel about me signing Madine, Billy?”

Is a bit of an unfair question to put to Sharp by management - one he can’t really give a “right” answer to.

So you don't believe in second chances then? He was 23 when he was last convicted 5 years ago. I think detestable is a bit extreme for ABH and GBH convictions by a young lad.

I personally wouldn't sign him based on his football ability, the ex Wednesday and his previous convictions I have no problem with.

You’re right is footballing ability isn’t good enough but he’s also had more than a second chance, he’s had a third and a fourth, and probably a fifth sooner or later.

I wouldn't sign him based on the fact he is an out and out cunt......and I hate that word, reserving it only for very rare occasions such as this.
