Mousset seems inevitable, I expect us to get Mcburnie now as well, my question is..
When/if they both come off, do we quickly take the Maupay offer off the table or do we keep it out there and just see if we get a late bite?

Cadette seemed to imply that Mousset was instead of Maupay but who knows?

Also, I wonder where that second loan might come from? On a season long maybe that could be the big foreign one that the Prince could be after?

I think he probably is instead of Maupay, but RC never implied that.

As I have zero ITK information my guess is Hendo/Osborn/Mousset/McBurnie being the 4 he speaks of. Which worries me that centre midfield & RCB are not strong enough. We need to challenge/cover Basham and I worry about Fleck in the big league.

I disagree.

"Maupay could even end up going to Bournemouth. We’re having a look at few other options, one of them being Lys Mousset."

Fair one. His more recent posts talk about both of the deals in parallel - as if one is not dependent on the other. Will have to see. I think no news is bad news with this one. As others have said, if Maupay was interested I think he’d already be here - clearly waiting for something else.

I thought it was his agent holding out for the £800k, not Maupay himself?

Why isn’t he already at Villa, Brighton or West Ham? The ‘something elses’?

I took it as 4 after Hendo. Norwood, Fleck, Freeman, Osborn and Lundstrum will probably be enough in midfield. If it is 4 after Hendo maybe the last is a RCB. Although it’s very quiet on any rumours in that position.

I completely agree with all that too.

I reckon once we meet Swansea's valuation the wages and the personal terms won't be a problem with Mcburnie, sounds like Maupay (or his agent) is trying to make us jump through hoops.

Just going off RC’s posts, it feels like we were in for him first. When he initially posted he intimated that it was “nearly done.” His Agent seemingly stalled it whilst trying to drum up interest from elsewhere (potentially at Maupay’s request) and now the other interest has arrived the deal has stalled.

It’s all theories and guesswork, but I think the club Maupay wants still hasn’t firmed up their interest. Maybe there’s offers from ourselves and Brighton and he’s waiting for Villa, or a last minute offer from someone bigger...

Think Lenihan at Blackburn has long been a target of Sir Chris. Someone who could play RCB and possibly provide a defensive midfield option as well perhaps?
Henderson, Osborn, Lenihan, Mousset and McBurnie maybe?

Personally [not that my opinion means bugger all in this matter] I hope that the Mousset signing is indeed a great big feck off to Maupay and his agent, meaning we can use the cash difference to invest in another quality holding midfielder to give competition to Norwood. Although word is that Morrison has played as a deep playmaker recently and looked ok.

That's all assuming that we don't need the cash to secure McBurnie or an equivalent, which is essential.
