Bloke should be in the Premier League at his age.

If he had some personal discipline he has plenty of tools to be a top flight player.

I’m sure he can create some moments there, when he’s not injured.

Agree…..for about 3 months even by PL standards he looked really good for us….contender as being one of our best strikers but too short lived.
Thought we’d found ourselves a bargain and did think he could go on to be our new Brian Deane.

But he was quite muscular and always seemed to be pulling muscles every time he sprinted.
And like a lot of players when facing adversity with time spent in the injury room…he was paid a large contract and lost his hunger to make a come back.
He’s wasted his talent but suspect he’s probably not too bothered because he’s made plenty of money from the game.

1 professional goals since leaving according to Wiki.

Was honestly expecting to check and it to say he's played 40 and scored 30 in that league!

When he was scoring freely at the start of Slavs reign, that should have been the catalyst for a new successful era at The Lane for Slav and Mousset's

“Scoring freely “?

Mousset has never done that in his entire career . His record with us was a paltry 9 goals in 53 matches . His record at Bournemouth was even worse with just 5 in 71 .

How on earth this persuaded us to part with £10 million pounds for his services I will never understand .

I well remember looking at his stats and watching the video of his so called highlights before we signed him and thinking this could be a big mistake , and so it proved to be .

Some would have us believe that his shortcomings were all down to his over indulgence in take aways but for me it goes deeper than that in that he had too many limitations to be an effective player at any significant level , notably a poor first touch , poor positional sense and lack of awareness which led to him missing a number of golden goal scoring opportunities .

His rapid decline since leaving us comes as no great surprise .

Kept us up though and we didn't pay ten million either

A mistake? His goals made us have a league position that brought in 220 million quid...

The stats don't tell the story as others have said. He was absolutely immense at times and a huge part of why we made it to the edge of european slots, before eventually finishing 9th in that first season.

That performance against Man U was something else and was during his peak in that season.

There were a lot of other factors as to why he went off the rails and has pretty much played no football in the last 2 years and I think it's clear that, in Mousset's case, football isn't always the be all and end all of life.

Knowing everything we know now and what he brought us in that first season, for me he was worth every penny.

You don't need to sell a player for a profit for them to be good value. Mcburnie went for free but played a huge part in going up in 23 and wasn't he joint top scorer in 2020 so helped bring in money that was well beyond whatever we were used to.
