Good point, man management is more important than ever now at the top level. The 'tough love' worked with Deano after the Liverpool mistake because it was objective and constructive criticism, along the lines 'If he wants to be Man Utd and England's No 1, he can't concede goals like that'. Fair argument and Deano responded in the right way.
But Moose is clearly more complicated and therefore needs handling differently. I accept
knowsnowt comment fully but whilst a United player, on our books, we surely do everything humanly possible to extricate as much out of his talent as possible?
I remember the Arsenal game when he ran straight over to Wilder to celebrate and hug him. Wilder pushed him away on to the pitch, to get on with it, which I get but it's symbolic of the relationship really. Moose wanted 'soft love' not 'tough love'. It might be Moose is and always has been a lost cause but I can't help but think that the club are culpable to an extent too, in not maximising the asset.
