Can't sleep so having a look at their performances and of the 29 games they've started between them for the club they've managed a sum total of 1 full 90 minutes.

Burke lacks control but has pace. He is limited but could be useful next season.
Mousset is a waste of talent. The attitude does not appear to be right. So I would cut my losses and get rid.

Fuck it, start them both.

Pace the living MOAR out of the opposition.

It'd be like having a pair of drunken toddlers up front, feet outpacing the brain.

Thing is defenders are terrified of them, even though they aren't PL quality. So it gives us an outlet and we at least look more attacking with them rather than Sharp and McBurnie.

Mousett is close to PL quality just doesn't show it for obvious reasons, and for me he paid off his transfer fee for last season and was a success that we bought (from someone who said we shouldn't sign him before we did).

Burke was a gamble that hasn't paid off, not his fault that we had to rely on him so much.

Moose for me is a classic case of not being managed in the right way. He clearly has talent & IMO paid back his transfer fee last season, yet has issues with application. He is our player & to sell him because fans think his attitude is poor is defeatist, what we should be doing is working out the best way of getting him fit & firing for next season. Not all players respond the same way, for example I think CW's MO was "tough love" which might work for the majority of our players but Moose seems more emotional & sensitive & might respond to an arm around the shoulder instead. It seems stupid to to give up because he is hard work, when we sign a player we have a duty to do everything we can to get the best out of him rather than stick the bottom lip out & say "fuck him, get rid."

Nah. Get rid.

Yeah. I remember working landscaping for minimum wage, could never really find the motivation to carry sleepers, slabs, barrow soil etc, till my boss put his arm around me and said "either work or fuck off".
It's a hard life for some.

Big difference between the two though isn't there?
Minimum wager downs tools & another minimum wager takes his place, easy. Premier League asset valued in the millions not working as he should, well my approach would be to do whatever I could to change that, & not sell for a probable loss & gamble a few million on another one.
Look, it's all about opinions, you have yours & I have mine, it's cool.

Moose get rid, if we can recoup half of what we spent

Burke keep without a shadow of doubt, if the new boss is a wingers man, Burke would be outstanding in the championship I reckon

Good point, man management is more important than ever now at the top level. The 'tough love' worked with Deano after the Liverpool mistake because it was objective and constructive criticism, along the lines 'If he wants to be Man Utd and England's No 1, he can't concede goals like that'. Fair argument and Deano responded in the right way.

But Moose is clearly more complicated and therefore needs handling differently. I accept knowsnowt comment fully but whilst a United player, on our books, we surely do everything humanly possible to extricate as much out of his talent as possible?

I remember the Arsenal game when he ran straight over to Wilder to celebrate and hug him. Wilder pushed him away on to the pitch, to get on with it, which I get but it's symbolic of the relationship really. Moose wanted 'soft love' not 'tough love'. It might be Moose is and always has been a lost cause but I can't help but think that the club are culpable to an extent too, in not maximising the asset.

The chants of “your not fit to wear the shirt” has never been more relevant for Moosset. To many take always, he can’t fit in the skin tight Adidas shirts. Fat twat

Burke is not a striker. I'm still baffled why we signed him. He's scored something like 16 goals more than me in his entire senior career. At a rate of about 4 a season. Lad is a winger or a wide forward who clearly doesn't score many. And I'm baffled, given his levels of fitness, why he can't last 90 minutes of a game in which he runs around 'a bit'. I realise he's often taken off for being embarrassing but even when he's doing well he lasts for 60 minutes.

Amusingly, I suspect he might be at RWB next game given our two RWBs can't play and Bash is injured.

I think Mousset is a much better striker than Burke and a fully fit and motivated Mousset would take the piss at championship level. However how do we get a fully fit and motivated Mousset, seems almost impossible.

Funny then that Howe also couldn't get him playing regularly and Howe does seem to be a arms round the shoulder manager

Mousset reminds me of a lad I used to play 5-a-side with. I've never seen anyone who could shoot like he could. He was rapid. As soon as the keeper got the ball he was making a run. Could score from anywhere. took on shots first time. We played a tournament once and he'd been out all night at a rave. Fell asleep before the first game, woke him up and he scored 12 goals. Had to have a cold shower before the second game and scored 8 goals. Every time he came off the pitch at the end of a game he looked like he was going to die.

He tried at 11-a-side and impressed in training but on the pitch he had zero discipline or workrate off the ball. He could only last for 60 minutes tops.

Let's hope Mousset isn't constantly stoned like that lad.

Moose has it , just hasn't got the application to be a professional footballer , sad really has he has vision , and creates a lot of chances for strikers around him when he is on the ball , time is ticking on his career now , he's wasted most of it so far, and could have earnt a lot more money if he had the right attitude . Unfortunately his opinion of himself is far greater than anyone else's opinion of him .

Burke will be one of the players of the season next year, if he stays.

WBA had to loan him to Alaves when they went down because he didn't want to play in the little league

How many games has he played in the last 4 seasons?

The guy who is currently averaging around 3 goals per year? The guy who will likely be playing against defences which sit deep and look to counter? Can't see it myself.

In his first season here he was involved in 33 games. This season not so much, but he has had some niggling ankle & toe injuries that have affected him. I think even CW had to apologise to him for making light of those problems to start with, & acknowledged they were worse than the club realised.

Not bothered about the seasons before he came to us frankly.

Look, I get it, you don't like him & you are not alone, my stance is that you are better off polishing a diamond rather than rolling a turd in glitter.

Finish the story off then !
Did you do some work or get fucked off ?
🤔 😀😀😀

When he arrived he looked sharp and capable. But for the second part of the season he looked disinterested and overweight. This season for various reasons he hasn't contributed. I agree with you that he is talented. I am not sure he can turn it around. I am hoping we don't have another Roswell on our hands.

I don't think for Burke it's down to lack of fitness. He just hasn't started that many games and we've tended to be chasing every game we've played, so we've tended to change strikers in the vague hope of converting one of the chances that we aren't creating.
Burke is really explosive and built like a sprinter, so will no doubt fade quicker than most, but he's a physical specimen. I don't think his issue is fitness or commitment related, he's just surprisingly poor at kicking a football.

That's the last thing we need; last game of the season, a flying saucer crashes into the back of the Kop.
