Ok this isn’t happening but to play opposing council.
- His style of play is much more suited to sides who have more possession he’ll have that at a lower level.
- Forest aren’t a good option, and his standing and reputation will not be improved with a season there unless they outperform all expectations like we did. Everton look like a basket case and are likely to be so for another season while Frank tries to sort it out.
- His options would be strengthened with another season as one of the top performers in the Championship where it’s likely he would shine. Players like Bowen and Armstrong stayed for an extra season and got moves to higher level and better PL teams.
- While obviously at a much lower level, he’d earn the same if not more on his new contract.
- He apparently loved it here and had a real affinity with the squad. That could be entirely bollocks put out for our benefit at the time but watching him and his reaction to playing for us I don’t think it’s entirely heart ruling my head.
- We were close last year and without Slavs start it’s likely we would have had a good argument that could have gone up automatically. He’s coming back to essentially the same squad, potentially strengthened.
- He’d rather come here than Forest.

Some brilliant points there. Well done.
It's a toughie, going to play hoofball under Heckingbottom away at Preston and Stoke on a freezing Tuesday night or running out at Anfield, Old Trafford etc playing for a bigger club. He's practically chairman of the Steve Cooper fan club as well having played twice under him.
