When this was originally posted I thought it meant the week after it was posted. It appears that it's any week within the next 10 years.

Hate to disappoint everyone but the "rumours" are that Leeds MIGHT consider making a bid for Monty or they MIGHT bid for someone else. No contact between the clubs, just pure conjecture as usual. The ITKers really must try harder

Still, RN, even false rumours can start good debates. This thread has had 6,000 views and 60+ posts, didn't you find any of them interesting?

Heard a rumour today that L##ds are going to bid £1.5m for both Monty and Quinn. If true I feel that although I quite like them both for commitment this would be a great bit of business and free up a massive amount of wages

Interesting fee, would have thought Quinn alone would be worth at least £2m in todays market. Get him in a decent side and he'll be able to play a bit. Having said that, Quinn would be a very good player in the third division as he has the ability to run and pass, with a bit of aggression about him also, just what we need at this level.

As to Monty well sorry, any hopes we ever had of him being anything other than a binman disappeared years ago. I'd let him go for nowt just to free up some cash and avoid us being one dimensional, which IMO we are whenever he's on the pitch.

Sorry to be negative with my first couple of posts but I really can't get over the fact that not too long back, our opening game of the season was at home to Liverpool in front of a packed Bramall Lane with a fantastic atmosphere, spoiled only by a dodgy ref. Tomorrow we're at Oldham, and we have the delights of Yeovil, Stevenage and Wycombe Wanderers etc to look forward to. Soul destroying stuff, and how anybody can get excited about this season is beyond me. There are people at this club who should be hanging their heads in shame right now.

Oh by the way, Hi everyone, I'm Nebulous Ted, a long time Blade but a newbie here. Hope I'm wrong in my negativity but we'll see, at least that's one thing football still has, a wee bit of unpredictability.

why Ted? he is a league 1 player now. I think get quinn on a sell on clause and then invest in more young talent like DW seems to be doing. If we get these two off the books that must be a good chunk of cash saved each week

'At least' 2 mil for Quinn...

Are you sure?

Not a lot wrong with Quinn, like I say, get him in a decent side and he can play a bit. More established and rounded player than Ched Evans for example, and look how much we paid for him.

Quinn was our only decent player last year & the only one that gave a shit.
2M? yes from my point of for def.
I'll be gutted when he goes. :(

I do like Quinn, but he's a limited player. Can only play effectively on the left, yet has little pace.

£2m would be three times his market value.

Ah, you're right there,Ted.

Welcome Ted. You are obviously a very discerning Blade if your pinpoint assessment of The Maestro is anything to go by.

You're a bit OTT with the £2m though! Especially in the current climate. I'd be snatching hands off at £700,000.

Anyway, will you have a cup of tea? Ah, Go on! Go on!

Leeds abysmal display at southampton will speed up any transfer activity, youd think

see why piggies drew with them now

Nearly a month on and they are all still here.

Oh, greetings fellow Blades :)

Bang on about Monty there.

Quinn on his day could be worth a bit I agree but he is a bit too inconsistent surely to command a fee of £2mil? you maybe right when you look at the shit we have paid around 2mil for Hendo, Horsfield and Akinbiyi. The problem is no one is buying even a fair few prem and championship clubs have been looking for more and more free transfers.

Getting rid of the remaining players that are high earners is going to be a struggle and really they should have gone by now.
