Blackman sale, on the back of last weeks 'I hope he stays' 'money is there regardless of his sale', ought to be everybody's final straw.
"I hope he stays". - Do you believe he meant that?
Do you think Beattie had Flu?
He's a liar.
UTB
But I was asking where the lies were in the last few weeks, this season. Not 5 years ago. I've moved on since then.
As for Blackman, from his perspective he joined us from a championship side in the summer. Did well with us and the vultures started circling. From his point of view he had a chance now to play in the Premier league. The premier league club matched/ exceededmour valuation for him. It was undoubtedly a lot more than what we paid.
Personally I'll be waiting to see how we get on rather than jumping up and down demanding changes at the top or speculating negative bollocks
"I hope he stays" was reference to Blackman, not 5 years ago.
And like it or not, none of us can really move on from 5 years ago. The effects are clearly being felt today.
A very matter of fact way of describindthe fact that we sold our best player after 5 months, rather than wait untIil summer. But so what? It's just beyond laughable for the club to pretend they can't stand in his way after that length of time.
Aye, all this reactive nonsense gets us nowhere. It's not as though we've been rapidly declining for 5 years or anything. Let's wait and see. Come back in 10 years?

It appears that the status if Blackman has moved on from decent player to legendary status.
Not just yourself, but it seems many on here have escalated him to be better than he was. I've never denied that I liked him as a player, but he wasnt a stand out player. Perhaps there were reasons for it such as our style of play and the quality of players around him, but he wasnt the world beater that many claim he is/ was.Who thinks that? He's just the one player who threatened to excite me over the last 1/2 season, and our top scorer even when out on the wing. Rest assured, you can flog any of the rest without much of a mutter from me. Sadly, that's what we're left with.

I'm interested to see how he does with Reading. Good luck to him
There's a reason Reading, Sunderland and Palace were interested though. And interest is one thing we can measure. Clearly nobody was very interested in the rest of the players.
UTB
Yep, I'm not denying that.
So, do you think there is nobody else in the squad that can't step up to the mark and replace the messiah?![]()
Again fair play. I don't think Miller is comparable as they seem too different. No, I really don't. The one that might is injured, making the sale even more unforgivable. Still, 2 loanees in to get us all believing again.

Personally Murphy sounds more like a replacement, but so far has been crap. I'm also yet to see him play so its not a judgement, just an expectation.
I've honestly given up on the season Swiss. Anything we get from it is a bonus. But my energy is now "Anti McCabe". I'd also sack the manager, but McCabe won't have the bare faced cheek required.
At least I'll be spared the risk of having to go to Wembley again.
The team will third division for a good while yet.
I can see your point in many ways, you seem less reactionary than some. McCabe has never really worried me, I don't pay that much attention to him and I always think how bad things could be. There are teams in much worse states than us. I know you're going to disagree with that.
Go on then. Name one...
Ref the McCabe thing - it's a fine line between thrusting your beliefs on people, and wanting to encourage something. I'll apologise up front.

Regarding Blackman. Didn't he turn down Palace? Seriously I think we have to look at where we are. Yes McCabe probably wanted to keep Blackman. He probably wants us to get promoted. The only way that McCabe will get his money back is if we're playing at a higher level.

Then we have Wilson. Perhaps he thought he could manage with the squad that he has. I don't know. None of us do.
Wilson will certainly have his squad budget (irrespective of FFP) and he also has to manage this. Perhaps Blackman moving on meant we could get the pace of Forte into the side. Who knows.
There is clearly more to this than just McCabe. But people don't want to hear alternatives they remember the sale of BT and can never forgive or forget.
We've all been critical of the playing side this season for varying reasons, but mainly because we've not been good enough. However this window the club has brought in 3 players from a higher level in England plus one in form lad from the SPL, he signed off v Celtic (champions league side) with a decent display and then picked up the player of the month award for the SPL. But people don't want to know that. They just see that McCabe is destroying the club... Yet McCabe is still bank rolling the manager who picks the side. Rightly or wrongly.
I dont know where we'll end up this season, but fingers also get pointed at Wilson. Apparently tactically he is inept. But he's just brought in 3 players that need to bed in, the team is way down on form. This has to be addressed.
Having been given the transfers by McCabe, Wilson must now sort the playing side. Will he be sacked if results don't improve in the next week or so. No, I doubt it. It looks like he's been backed with players and is trying again to bring in more attacking players to address the lack of goals.
Personally I'll be waiting to see how we get on rather than jumping up and down demanding changes at the top or speculating negative bollocks
My theory: Nigel Adkins recommended Forte from when he was at Southampton and if/when Wilson goes we'll get him in (bit unrealistic I know but you're allowed to dream)
so much laughability in this as ive read down all mccbe the year is one *cue baby with red eyes*
I'd also sack the manager, but McCabe won't have the bare faced cheek required.
He had the cheek to say we'd be bringing players in right before flogging the most valuable. So it wouldn't be a stretch would it?
But if, he did, would you really welcome it? All it would amount to is a deflection of accountability onto his staff, thus easing the pressure on him. And you'd welcome that? And welcome having him choose a replacement?
Personally speaking, if we sack a manager who got us 90 points last season, was top of the league a month ago, has brought in x-million in transfer money, and we did so without giving him chance to rectify the recent slump or get us playing again...
...well then I truly would despair. The cycle of failure would just have had another big push.
