Player Suggestion Mohammed Eisa

Brentford paid Exeter £1.8m for Ollie Watkins last summer. He's worth 4-5 times that now.

Good point! Ollie Watkins was courted by pretty much every single team, everyone seemed to know he was an excellent player. I’m not ITK but I’ve not heard loads of teams interested in Eisa.

I still think it would be a big risk. I’m pretty sure if we dropped Scott Hogan etc in League two he would score more.

For me it’s a big risk and there’s better.

I hope I don’t come down on the wrong side of your argument but can I ask what is derogatory about wanting to sign a black player because he is fast or big?

You see I watch a lot of American football including the combines and it’s very rare to see a white athlete in a skilled position Such as WR which is like a striker in football. It’s not like it’s an unknown fact that black athletes are generally faster and stronger at these positions.

Now I know your beef is that it’s because of the justification, well actually it’s with good justification
This is getting tedious now.
So to wrap up, black guys are faster (look at athletics)
White guys are stronger (just watch the world's strongest man)

We done?

This kid could have the pace of Bobby Ford, if he scores, contributes, has the right attitude, wants to play for us and is within our budget... wilder will asses him.
How fast he can do hurdles or how many atlas stones he can get up will be completely irrelevant.

Dragging this one back up,

I've just seen an article on newsnow that says Peterborough have had a bid of £1million pound rejected for the lad & it seems they wont be going back in for him as the player's agent has said there is some interest from a Championship club. Could it be us?

Cheltenham are reportedly looking for £1.5million.

Be a good signing in my opinion. The fact Peterborough bid 1m may indicate Marriott is leaving

1.5m? No, we won't spend anywhere near that on one player, let alone a League Two player.

Probably so, my reckoning would be it's Brentford or Gary Johnson's son's team Bristol City who are in for him.

Ollie Watkins has to be the benchmark and comparison with Eisa.

He cost Brentford about £2m. Eisa's a bit older and less athletic so I think £1.5m should be the absolute max, but I can see why Peterborough don't want to pay over £1m.

Maybe he's not worth more than that at this stage but for anyone with any money he's easily worth a gamble.

Haven't got the tweet now but some guy on twitter said us and Bristol were in for him. The guy was one of these so called transfer reveal people but then closed his account so hardly reliable. As you say can see him going to Bristol City.

If we signed him now, loaned him to Donny and he scored 15 by January..... boom. We'd suddenly have a £3m+ asset.

But I can't see us stretching our recruitment to 'spare' signings like that.

Are you basil brush?

But surely Cheltenham have to sell, Peterborough are a higher placed club, they quite simply have to sell, McCabe said so.
They're playing a risky game holding onto a player when a higher placed club comes in for him...…...I mean Eisa might sulk all the way back to non league football and have to get a job at B&Q to make ends meet if he's not allowed to leave.

Depends who’s gambling it, it is quite rare for players to make the jump from League two to the championship. However as he is so unproven it does give him a little hope of maybe one who’s been missed through the net. Danny Hylton always scores in League two and struggles in league one. I remember also Mark Richards at chesterfield being the same.

A £1.5m risk is huge and would be our second highest transfer in 7 years I believe after Bradford. For a player with one good season in League two. I know if I was the chairman I wouldn’t want to risk my hard earned cash on him.

It’s like anything if I was the chairman I’d be saying huge risk this deal is on you! If it goes wrong don’t come back to me saying I’ve lost you £1.5m I want another £2M to replace him.

23, born in Sudan, been here since 9.

First season in league football last season, Cheltenham got him from Greenwich.

That's all I can remember from when I looked him up on Wikipedia two minutes ago.

Gerrimin, GLTTL etc.

Been here since 9. Cheltenham got him from Greenwich. What's he been doing in the meantime?

Love this forum
Don't come on here with your opening gambit of outrageous comments, keep it short and friendly to start with and build from there, just trying to be helpful ,oh and welcome by the way pat langan.

If by embrace you mean being taken over by someone worth hundreds of millions, then yes they have.

Yes, it's amazing how many clubs have been taken over by someone worth hundreds of millions or even billions of pounds. Small clubs, medium sized clubs, big clubs, it doesn't matter.
Market research, is conducted by these billionaires and yet Sheffield United are never on their radar. The most absolutely perfect club you could imagine for a would be investor, and yet NOTHING !!!!!!!!

Even if investors won't buy for McCabes asking price we'd have heard about potential takeover talk or enquiries if any had happened.
So we have to wonder why it hasn't happened

I hope the Prince wins this battle and I hope he takes control fully, not because I think he's any better than McCabe, but I do think he will be better connected to move us onto the next level by finding us somebody with the willingness and wherewithal to do it.

I really don’t care who takes control, so long as they take us forwards as a football club...onwards and upwards and all that.

Surely the perfect clubs for investors are either those in strife and available on the cheap, or those that would cost a fortune but are making billions and almost guarantee a return? We fit into neither category.

We're not in strife then ?
Just sold the brightest young prospect outside the top flight for no other reason than to keep the club ticking over whilst our two "Owners" bicker "IN COURT" about a sum of money that wouldn't buy Ronaldos left bollock

This club has never been in anything other than strife.
Every so often a manager comes along that can get a bit of respectability back (Respectability nothing more than that) and everybody thinks it's all ok again and things are going to be better from now on
But it's never long before the absolute fucking pricks in that boardroom revert back to type and fuck everything up
