We need a new word for snow flake as I find it offensive and racist
Any need to mention his ethicity "Black" absolutely no relevence to anything at all mate.
Seriously... why don’t you and those of a similar outlook, just have a day off from your politically correct agenda?
It is not offensive or meant in any derogatory way to mention his ethnicity. It is no different to describing someone as “tall, blonde” or “small ginger”. It’s a descriptor of his appearance that makes him more identifiable. In a game that is still in the majority made up of non-black players it is an obvious descriptor to mention.
I was trying to describe Ojo of Fulham to a mate after I’d seen us play Fulham last season. I thought he was really excellent btw and gave us a torrid time down the flank. How did I describe him, not knowing his name? By saying, “ that black lad who played on the wing for them, the one with the blonde Mohican type hair-do”. That’s how!
I suppose that’s politically incorrect then by your reckoning is it?
I shouldn’t have mentioned he was black?
I also should apologise to anyone with blonde hair or any Mohican reading this?
It’s about time you folks got in the real world. There’s nothing wrong at all with describing someone by their skin colour, hair colour, hair style, distinguishing features, nothing whatsoever. There’s everything wrong with using that in a derogatory way to label stereotypes.
Your problem is, you can’t tell the difference and that’s why you, and others like you, are quick to react, inappropriately imo, to any mention of it.
You just make yourself look more ignorant than the ignorant so and so’s who are fundamentally racists - and it just confuses the issue and helps no-one!
**SNOWFLAKE ALERT**
The OP didn't use the term 'black' to describe him, he used it as a justification to sign him.
Can you notice the distinction?
Does it change your thoughts?
What a surprise! I was waiting to hear from you!**SNOWFLAKE ALERT**

Not one iota - thanks for asking though.
The OP took objection on the grounds of mentioning skin colour, FULL STOP!
It also disregards the humourous intent behind the “Black, French, pacy” cliche that is actually used on here to poke fun at those who hold such racists views, not to support them. A gesture totally lost on the OP and you.
He will end up at Brentford for about 2 million.Lets try and actually get back on topic.
Been saying a while I’d love for us to look at him. Very good return for his first season (3rd top scorer) in the FL, and in a side that finished 17th in L2. Would have said he was a low risk signing and a gamble worth taking... I’ve since heard Cheltenham want I’m excess of a mill.
For me he’d still be worth it and still relatively low risk in this day and age at that price.
To take your methodology, the Quarterback role is by far the most skilled and difficult position to play in American football, requires the most intelligence and skill to master, and most of them are White in a 80% black sport...so what does that say?I hope I don’t come down on the wrong side of your argument but can I ask what is derogatory about wanting to sign a black player because he is fast or big?
You see I watch a lot of American football including the combines and it’s very rare to see a white athlete in a skilled position Such as WR which is like a striker in football. It’s not like it’s an unknown fact that black athletes are generally faster and stronger at these positions.
Now I know your beef is that it’s because of the justification, well actually it’s with good justification

Do you think the opening post was racist for mentioning being Black as a reason to sign him? (whether joking or not)
A million pound for a striker who’s only ever played one league season! He would be CWs most expansive signing to date. We’ve signed the best players in league one for less!

Makes you wonder what we did to get decent money from Birmingham for Adams? At the time some posters on here were suggesting we undersold, well since then Adams has hardly set the world alight, so maybe a million for raw talent is the going rate. What you gamble on is that talent developing into something special, with a valuation far in excess of the original fee.
Understand your points. But Cheltenham’s valuation is massively overrated. Matt Godden got a move and he was 6 figures. Would never pay a million pounds for anyone in League two.

Yes, without question.
The more important question, is whether or not it's malicious though? - It clearly isn't.
In short, the OP doesn't bother me. I was simply trying to explain that not everyone is in on the joke, and a reaction is inevitable.

Respect fella for being succinct about your reply. Big difference between description and using a generalisation to justify.
Brentford paid Exeter £1.8m for Ollie Watkins last summer. He's worth 4-5 times that now.
