Get your excuses in early.

Promising, but he said we wouldn't sell Murphy.

Extremely worrying.

What's to be resolved? Fuck him off if he's failed a drugs test.

He said he didn't want to sell Murphy. Why is identifying targets now for the Summer re-build worrying ? Should he wait until August ?

It's worrying because it proves we are putting a lot of responsibility on a man that has demonstrated his signing of poor players in Woolford, Edgar and Hammond. Can you not see how we're setting ourselves up for a bit of a (a lot of a) fall? He said we wouldn't sell Murphy. His words were "Look, Jamie Murphy isn't going anywhere". Are you denying he said this?

Because we never plan or hit the ground running when it comes to transfer windows.

I can guarentee now where ever we are on August 31st there will be talk if we are trying to get deals over the line.

As discussed on here several times in last few weeks our transfer policy is run by imbeciles /morons/idiots choose as appropriate.

The one about pre season transfer plans is a bit encouraging, even if it does suggest we've already given up on promotion. We need to have deals in place early, for once. Hopefully we've spoken with a number of (good) players already.

Ah right, so you're just worried about Adkins still being here next season.

I can't remember his exact words to be honest but he wouldn't have been in a position to categorically state that Murphy wasn't being sold as the decision was out of his hands.

Only NA knows if he's building a squad for league 1 or whether he's been out with Jose and intends building one for the championship

The good thing is that the players (you'd hope) are of a quality that could play higher if by some miracle we do go up via the play-offs but by the same token are happy to play in League 1 if needs be.

You'd hope so but I'd be more than happy if we were in talks with a number of good League One players whose contracts are expiring.

Unfortunately we can't aim too high - when we do, we fail.

In your opinion. You always forget to put "in my opinion" and just state your own personal view as fact.

We could also be putting our faith in the guy who signed our top scorer?

That would clearly be a good thing. In my opinion.

Do the math. I even forgot to mention Sammon, Jesus. 4/5 - 80% poor players i.e not good enough. How many players are we planning to sign in the summer? I'll let you do the rest.

I suspect Sammon was a done deal from Clough's final days and whilst I admit the Woolford signing was a strange one (although he'd done well for him previously), Hammond and Edgar are not 'poor'.

He did a similar re-building job at Scunny and took them up and has additional resources here.

Adkins would've had the last say as to whether to go through with it or not. That''s presuming steps were in place before he arrived, we don't know that. He could've pursued him as much as the others he signed.

Unless everything had been signed off and finalised before Adkins arrived (doubtful), Adkins has to take responsibility. Probably explains a lot about you then if you think Hammond and Edgar are signings good enough for a promoting chasing side.

I'm not American so not bothered about doing 'the math'.

I think he's been severely restricted in the type and cost of player he's been allowed to go for, and the fact he's been able to sign 1/2 on a permanent basis shows he's worked under restrictions.

I think you'll need to get used to the fact that he'll be here next season. The board seem to acknowledge that we need to move away from the hiring and firing policy of the past, and also that listening to the knee jerk armchair moaners isn't the way to run the club.

I think his success rate on players will be vastly improved when he's allowed to shape our squad next season, if he's given adequate chance to do so.

What evidence have you seen this season that makes you have, let alone have confidence in this view?

I said they weren't poor, big difference.
