I'm hearing that midnite might be pulling out of the sponsor deal. They had 3 options in the deal:
1. A significant increase in money if the team was promoted.
2. A significant decrease in money if the team remained in the championship.
3. The option to cancel/not renew the deal if the team remained in the championship.

My guess is that they will pay significantly less this year but it wouldn't surprise me if we had another late kit launch.

Good, bookies are scum. Let's give it to Laver for next to nowt.
Not all bookies are scum. I used to work for 2 of them. Helped many people to control their gambling
There are some questionable practices but often these are justified. For instance at one unnamed bookie we had a big winner but the money they used to fund their bets was derived from an illegal animal breeding operation. A la financial crime.

In essence gambling isnt a problem, poor human choices is a problem

Plus laver are in admin arent they

Be good to see something like Guardant Health sponsor us who are Helmy Eltouky's company.
Thing is though, hard to see what benefit it would do for them as a company so it's a non starter.
Same for Steven Rosen's company.

Better still what would be good would be a new investor who is able to become part of COH sports and sponsor the shirt or what not to inject x amount of funds in.

I do actually think that had we got promotion last season or even this, then new investors would have come to the fore.
But it's a harder sell when realistically the best way to make money on your investment is to get promoted to the PL and stay there.

But who knows... The price to invest in the club would now be less presumably than it would have been 12-18 months ago.

McLaren works is in the Sheffield/Rovrum twilight zone... just sayin'...
So do Rolls Royce, BAE etc… there’s lots of big names around the AMRC that have abundant marketing budgets and would benefit from the hospitality that comes with being the key sponsor. It’s another area where the club lags behind the rest of the league and we’ll eventually end up going back to Harsco/Steelphalt cap in hand (like we did when SSB Law went pop).

I still think it will be midnite, but this just emphasies the significant drop in revenue we are going to have from all avenues.

Cant we get the one of universities to sponsor us. Sheffield Uni is a sports university. Not sure on the financial side and marketing, but would surely be a good fit for both parties?

By chance, did they only work this out once they became a "big winner"?

Of course they did, but you cannot SOF everyone as the manpower would be astronomical.
The idea is if someone is winning big they check the funds are legit. Most are. Some are not.
Its cynical but the alternative is basically dystopia.
