Midfield Dilemma

After the performances of Lundstram and Freeman it's safe to say that Wilder already has some tough choices to make. Norwood,Fleck,Lunny and Freeman all should start based on performances, but only 3 can actually start. And then we don't even know how Ravel is coming back.

How would you set up the midfield?

I would go with Fleck-Freeman-Norwood in homegames against the weaker teams, and Fleck-Lunny-Norwood for the awaygames and games against top 6.

Yes, and based on what I’ve seen, Freeman deserves a place in the starting line-up (especially at home). Lunny has earned a place in it as well for me.

We controlled both games with the flat 3. That earns you the right to be more attacking later in the game.

Yes we looked good with freeman on but a games 90 minutes long not 20.

Fleck so far has started the quietest of the 3 so freeman im sure will take his spot and i think Rav will kill it when hes fit and ready and play the freeman/duffy role.

No idea what besic is like but for me hes quite far down the pecking order.

Freeman took Fleck’s role. I believe that’s what he will continue to do. Indeed I suggested it along with CaptainMorgans. Neither Fleck nor Norwood have any right to a place. Nobody does. That’s how it should be. Norwood was fantastic today, so were Freeman and Lunny. That’s the new starting point isn’t it?

I should add my usual disclaimer that I’m not Fleck’s Number one fan, but I think it’s a fair point this time...

Freeman took Fleck’s role. I believe that’s what he will continue to do. Indeed I suggested it along with CaptainMorgans. Neither Fleck nor Norwood have any right to a place. Nobody does. That’s how it should be. Norwood was fantastic today, so were Freeman and Lunny. That’s the new starting point isn’t it?

What pleased me with Freeman’s performance was as much what he did when not in possession, as given how important Fleck is to the shape of our system I tried to pay a bit more attention to what Freeman did when Palace had the ball. He was extremely disciplined.

I think he can comfortably do the Duffy role or the Fleck role, and there’s an argument that when we play the flat 3 he’s preferable to Fleck in that like with Basham in the team it allows us to change formation without having to use a substitution.

Whatever else, when fleck went off I like everybody was worried, when (best player on the pitch at the time) Robinson went off I like everybody was worried and then we were able to bring on Freeman and then Mcburnie who were brilliant, we may well have lost that game last season against a top end side, the squad looks good at the moment, Freeman to start for me next week.

That’s how I see it too.
The players on the subs bench are as good as the players in the starting 11.
It’s weird because injuries don’t effect us like in previous years.
