Tend to agree with most of that, Hughes used all his nous to try to 'even' it up, as annoying as it was to us. However, I thought his chat with Brandy harked back to their time together at Notts Co rather than him bullying poor little FebCan't agree, alco. It's a succession of bad management appointments, of whom Weir was simply the latest (and most egregious). That's the legacy that's got us into this shit. (Talking of legacies, 18.5k crowd yesterday is surely a legacy from the Warnock reign. When he came in, we were down to 8k.)
That was obviously their game-plan and you're quite right, a Weir side would have crumbled. Hughes (aka 'that fat, murdering, sexual assaulting tramp') played, I consider, a massively effective role. His aggression and bullying effectively negated the fact they were down to ten men. He was even winding Brandy up before the game kicked off. Full marks to Maguire for not only a superb performance, but maturity and strength in seeing Hughes off.
So yes, Hughes is a nauseous cunt but he played his role brilliantly and you could see Adams' reaction when he was finally relieved of his duties on 65 minutes - 'Well done, lad!'
