Remember Brian Deane giving us his man of match champagne. We got lost trying to find ground so decided to follow team bus back to motorway after match. Waiting around outside Deano came out for a chat and gave us a huge bottle of champagne. We supped it on way back. Can't remember score tho we must have won.

I was told that Deane is a teetotaler

My first Blades v QPR match was in a midweek in February 1970. Colquhoun and Reece headed in Woody's corners to make it a 2-0 win. Remember that QPR had quite a lot of tanned players (Venables, Bridges, Hazell, Leach and Clement).

The next one was the 1-1 draw in November 1970. Keeper Phil Parkes made a lot of brilliant saves. Tudor scored for us in the 1st half (see below) after Salmons was upended by Parkes

Ron Hunt equalised heading in a free kick. Right at the end Colin Addison had the ball in the net after a goalmouth scramble but ref John Yates disallowed the goal because he said he blew the whistle just before the ball crossed the line. After the game Yates needed a police protection outside the players entrance.

How many can you name in the photo below?

The last time I was at Loftus Road was in August 1992. A very good match, end to end stuff but we lost 3-2. Les Ferdinand opened the scoring with lovely skill, pace and great finishing. Alan Cork equalised, Simon Barker got QPR back into the lead with a good diving header after a cross by Andy Sinton (who gave Gage a hard time). Brian Deane equalised with a towering header. Dennis Bailey got the winner after a goalmouth header. Think it was the first time the Blades fans were singing "Alan Cork, he's got no hair but we dont care"

I was there then.
The coach driver seemed to not know London at all.
We went in a pub and had lots, quickly!
There was a rather rotund steward being abused as Sumo.
The hot dog was one of the finest I have ever had (no doubt related to beer consumption above)
We lost.

Yes, John Allen (RIP) was with us too. I remember you sitting next to a glamorous looking lady and chatting with her. Think she was a friend of Dave Bassett's?
Yep,remember it well......we got the posh seats for the players friends and family...
Good old days pal.....
I remember you picked me up for an away, just after you passed your driving test, was it Oldham?

Reckon we went in 91-92 when fans were chanting to Simon Tracey ‘Ireland’s No1’, somewhere along the line I think he shouted something to some of the fans and they were then chanting ‘Egypt’s No1’ as the penalty area was covered in sand. Roy Wegerly scored(?)

My most recent memory of QPR is us bookending the brief Paul Hart era with two trips to Loftus Road. I never really cared for Hart (always thought he seemed petulant in the 02/03 era when at Forest), and we were his first game in charge in the league – 1-1, both early goals I think. We then had an erratic FA Cup tie where I think we surged ahead to a 3-0 lead before letting them back in it late on to hang-on 3-2. Evans missed a glorious opportunity at the far end when he smashed it against the bar after having an age to pick his spot, and I remember Cresswell scoring in both games. Barely a month between the two games.

I’ve been a couple of times, can’t remember much of either as I had a fair few beers before both. The one nil in 2004 was the first, good craic!

Yes the 1-1 draw at Oldham in May 1994. Before the match you overheard a fan slagging off Alan Cork saying that he wouldnt even be playing for his Sunday team. It looked like that during the warm up that Cork heard him because when he scored early in the game he ran behind the goal and saluted towards him

Can some one help me please. I remember going to Loftus Road many years ago and we drew 2-2. I know we scored 2 goals in quick succession. I think this was right at the end of the game but I cannot be certain. I do remember however that the headline was that we scored 4 goals in 4 minutes as the next game we scored 2 goals in the first 2 minutes! I may have got this the wrong way round and may be the qpr goals came at the start of the match and were goals 3 and 4 of the four in four. Can anybody put me right on this.

March 1971. Woodward scored in 88th minute and Hemsley (pen) in 90th min at QPR. Next game was the 5-0 win at home to Blackburn, Woody scored in the 1st minute and David Ford in the 3rd minute

Has anybody mentioned the trip in the FA Cup a couple of years ago?

When the fella next to me called Rio Ferdinand "old horseface" which he quite clearly heard and scowled in our general direction. Then there was that fella in the upper tier of the home stand wearing a sombrero with string corks hanging from it, or something to that effect. He was a good sport and got a decent round of applause at the end.

Thanks Silent. God was it treally that long ago! Bloody frightening. I thought it was 1980's!

Was just going to say 'The game where Santos was world-class and QPR played a weird, gangly fucker up front'.

Re Crouch being called Freeeeak every time he touched the ball I think it got to him too. He was very young and took the comments to heart. Wasn't he subbed?

That'd be this one:

We also lost the home game on 14th August, 2010, 0-3. :(

My abiding memory of that game was Nylon Nosworthy trying to flick the ball over his head when under pressure by our touchline. He just flicked the ball straight out of play and QPR scored from the corner. Summed up his and our season that.

Like you Silent I was at the reserve game at the Lane when we played QPR in 1971. Desperate to get our promotion run going again after the disappointing Hull result. I can recall the buzz across the old terrace when news came through of those two late goals.

As you say we beat Blackburn 5-0 the following week. Ted scored a penalty at Loftus Road but missed one against Blackburn.

Just how important that penalty scored and the one missed were not the other way around.

Hemsley's penalty against Blackburn went straight to the back of the Kop!

The game at Loftus Road in February 2008 was our last game before I got married. It was a dismal 1-1 draw which I now remember chiefly because during the game someone dropped the most repulsive fart I have ever smelt. It was disgusting and lingered for quite some time. I could taste it. It was that bad.

Remember that 3-2 fa cup game in 2010. Was bloody cold I think, was bladdered.

Can vaguely remember playing them on New Year’s Day at the lane, early 90’s...won 1-0 I think

Been to Loftus Road a few times, but the two memories that particularly stand out are...

Mid-90's: My 7-year-old nephew lived in south London and was thinking about supporting Chelsea. I wasn't having that. Told him to either support Palace (his local team) or come to watch The Mighty Blades with me. Ended up taking to his first ever game which was a United win at QPR. My main memory is that in the first minute a wayward shot came our way and the jammy little sod caught the ball clean as a whistle. I've been going since the late 70's and never so much as touched the ball! He's still a Blade too.

About 2010 (I think): Trying to leave from the lower tier at Loftus Road but they only opened one tiny narrow exit gate causing a massive crush. It was dreadful. People were shouting at a copper on a big gate to open it, but he just blanked everyone. It got so bad that people were passing kids back over everyone's heads. The copper refused to even radio in to say what was happening despite cries of "remember Hillsborough" etc.

Remember a defeat at the Lane a few years back and as the last few filed out of the Kop, that wanker Bircham came over to taunt us.

Tosspot player from Chelsea Wannabees.

Let's hope that the £60mm FFP fine bankrupts them, the cheating cockney gets.

I think this thread just about covers everything but I remember at one of the games when they had Lee Camp (or was it Grant? I think it was Camp) in goal for them. A blade just kept shouting 'Lee' at him, almost like he knew him, until Lee turned round to see who was shouting him...'Lee...fuck off'.

I can remember this game like yesterday. I was behind the goal where we scored our late goals.
It was a hugely significant result in that it was the match after our catastrophic home defeat by Hull and we looked to be losing again with 2 minutes to go.
Instead we fought back to get a draw and never looked back. I believe we never lost again until Man Utd away the following season after our promotion to the first division.
No doubt I'll be corrected on that if wrong biut I certainly can't forget Ted Hemsley's penalty blasted down the middle in front of us!
