Talking about memories of the FA CUP,Newcastle at Old Trafford, walking underneath one of their stands was the best atmosphere iv'e witnessed from 2 sets of fans, going at each other with different songs, yes DIFFERENT songs.

Now isn't it about time our supporters start to get back to this.I get sick of hearing the same song over and over again.Newcastle at Old Trafford was brilliant and i'd love to get it back to that sort of atmosphere,it's not like we don't have a decent enough fan base is it!

On Crewe and the cup here's a good article written by James Shield - however it is all about the quotes from our former heroes now both in their 90s, Fred Furniss and Colin Colindridge

I had the privilege of playing against Fred on Claywheels Lane when he played fro British Gas. I'd have been 17 or so and he'd have been in his fifties.

I'll always remember that he toe-ended the free kicks he took. Tell that to the ponces in their coloured boots today.

Remember Colin Colindridge when they had a launch night in the South Stand for the Who's Who book a few years back. He'd had a few to drink and was excellent value talking the p!ss out of quite a few other former players.

Liked the bit with Fred Furniss and his penalty taking, didn't he miss one/had it saved in the derby in 1951? Quite a crucial miss as well, would have made it 8-3 :)

Yes, Wendy's keeper, Dave McIntosh saved Furniss' effort in that 7-3 win. The only time Furniss missed a penalty
