Correct. Hemsley had Best in his pocket. With hindsight, with only one substitute allowed, Gil Reece probably wasn't the best choice. Can't say John Harris wasn't positive though.
Harris wanted Salmons to drop back and help the defence but Salmons was still enjoying where he was so Harris told Reece to help the defence.

Was listening to the opening day memory lane podcast and Roy's piece about the 2008 1-0 loss to Birmingham and its impact later in the season is just 👌, I thought I was the only one who had noticed this.

I vividly remember being about 15 and watching that game in a Brits Abroad type bar in Mallorca with an illicit pint.

Can anyone direct me to a podcast that can block out my Sheffield United memories? Thanks in advance.
Do you have any Wednesday mates? They might be willing to slip you some deludamol... before you know it, you'll be reminiscing about losing to Yeovil and Swindon and how they were actually good for the club long-term

I quite liked the discussion of the younger brother working down the pit but also having thunderbirds wallpaper in his room. So fucking bizarre 🤣

You were spot on about the setting of the mine being a bizarre choice for a film set in Sheffield.

Whilst I have no doubt that there were groups of miners living in Sheffield (before they closed the mines) - there weren't any mines in what I would term Sheffield since Orgreave closed in 1981 - mining was something I associated with the north of South Yorkshire (i.e. around the Barnsley area).

A switch to the steelworks wouldn`t have made any difference to the story at all - its definitely someone operating on "Jobs in Yorkshire = mining" rather than looking any closer into the actuality of the area they are setting the film in.
