I remember going to Bradford v Blades in 1986 at Odsal Stadium,it was the season after Valley Parade burnt down.
We won 4-1 and I think Peter Withe scored a couple that day.
Did anyone else go to this game?

Think alcohol might have affected your memory Brownie! The 4-1 was in '85 at Elland Road, season after was at Odsal when those 'wonderful' Peacocks fans burnt down the chip van two weeks before, leaving Blades fans with no refreshments, bar Budgie chucking out a few bottles of water to fans at the bottom of the terrace. That ended 1-1

Yep, I was there but must say I had forgotten the result, didn't leeds fans set fire to the pie caravan a couple of weeks before or after we had played there or is my memory totally fuddled.

Beat me to it Handsworth, that explains why I don't remember the result though!

Sheffield United 2-2 Bradford

Was it not our ?000th league match? Curle and Asaba with the goals.

First memory of Bradford was at Valley Parade in 1981, they were top we were about 6th, won 2-0, Edwards got 1 and possibly Neville the other. Played um off the park and highlights on Yorkshire TV the following day. Dad decided we'd go in the home end as queues for the away end were horrendous, ended up getting escorted to the away end around the side of the pitch just as the teams ran out for the start. Always had good memories of playing at Bradford, seen many Blades wins there.

My only time at Bradford was the Kabba/Windass 0-5 game. I daren't go back for fear of soiling the memory. We bullied and outplayed a young Bradford team that was in rapid decline. Windass scored and despite being a bit of a Bradford hero didn't bother with any muted non-celebration crap and ripped his shirt off, waved it around and ran half the length of the pitch to celebrate with the Blades fans.

my only visit as we. If my memory is correct Uhlenbeek was sent off

If I remember correctly, our first game after Jimmy Hagan's death was at home to Bradford. They impeccably observed the minute's silence and I will always be grateful to them for that.

I remember some great games with Bradford over the years, going back to the 4th division when we both went up together, then a couple of years later in 84 when Edwards put us 1-0 up with a wicked deflection, only for Bradford to come back and nick it 2-1. I remember we won there in the same season in the Milk Cup with Stancliffe's first goal goal. The old valley parade had some character, some sights around the ground in those days as well. I remember the games at Elland Road and Osdal, funny games as the ground was half empty. The last time I went to valley parade was late 90's although i did drive past the ground a couple of years ago, it still looked dog rough around the stadium.

beem a few times to Bradford, sure ive seen us win with an Andy Scott goal, remember a possible 2-1 win with Fjortoft getting the winner, a 2-2 draw with Saunders equalising and a match on Boxing Day which im sure we won in 2001.

Went there sometime around 2003/04. Think we won 2-1 and have a vague recollection of Windass being sent off for them and the away end being a temporary stand.

Boxing Day, can't remember year, were my first away game (apart from Palace at wembley)
We won 2 - 0, Asaba's shot bounced back off keeper then deflected off his shin into net.

Remember the Neville/Edwards 2-0 ,great game and the 4-1. The thing I remember about the match at Odsal was going to the wrong ground first ,isn't there another ground , probably Bradford PA s ? and the players struggling to take corners because the corners of the pitch sloped up ,so they had to run down and then kick up.

Yes sitwell! 2-0 was in 1981 I remember that very well and I was omy 11 years old at the time. I remember in that game where the Bradford fans were throwing coins at us in which we had to dodge. Great childhood memories

You must remember the coin throwing from the home end in 81 pal?

My first enounter with Bradford was when we played them at the Lane in the 4th division. Knocking on 25k there that night more than reigning European Champions Liverpool had for a game that same night at Anfield. Can't remember much of the game other than the Bradford fans chucking loads of bog roll, confetti etc when the teams came out. Quite a sight it was.

At the end of the same season Utd & Bradford played a challenge match at Valley Parade & the Blades won another cup! I wonder if the club still have it.

Other memries of Bradford include a bit of riot outside Odsal on some grass outside the ground, was there a sports centre? Fans running amok, police horses everywhere. There's Windass scything down Michael Brown to get sent off, think that was the day we won & went top. Gus Uhlenbeek getting sent off for Bradford & trudging off the field accompanied by the guttural cheers of the travelling Blades, Guuuus, Guuuus, I'm sure he allowed himself a bit of smile as he walked past the Blades and down the corner tunnel.

Same here mate. Me and a few mates decided to go on the Bradford side of the terrace behind the goal due to the queues at the turnstiles. Thought we might have a few scuffles but managed to scale the fence at the front and walk around to the Blades side. My one and only time watching the Blades at Bradford.

I remember watching last season's game at the Lane (a cracker) and thinking we were still at dire risk of relegation after chucking 2 points away.

On one of my regular journeys over think the satdi game in the 4th was called off , so around 100 of us went to toytown as they had Newcastle in town that day , went on the side end close to the mags then had a talk with the not so happy millers ,
Also in a return fixture at the lane , a couple of them were in the south stand closest to Kop , top bit M1 section ?
Me and a few friends escorted them to there proper seating in the lane end .
Although SYP didn't like us telling them where to go .

I remember Michael Brown laughing as Windass chopped him down.

Stuart McCall with his sarcastic clapping of referees decisions , earned him a long drawn out song of "a fat Scottish bastard, youre just a fat Scottish bastard" as his true love, Bradford city, drew at the Lane. LLittle did we know he would get one of our goals at vp 2 yrs later, when Windass got sent off for fouling Michael Brown

Yes hes a bit emotional our Dean..a bit dim too maybe.

My recollection of the div 4 game was having bits of the terracing thrown at us over the fence dividing our half of the terracing from theirs. They rather shamelessly charged extra for away fans for this game ax well. Am in all a great result for us.
