I don't know about his off the field incident, I wasn't there ;)

But Clough has certainly helped him develop, looks a decent player now
I personally think McNulty was better nearer the start of the season than he was towards the end, hence the lack of confidence, we must just see different things on this one, i've no probs with that mate.

Oh, and i wasn't there either but from the snippets i heard it wasn't McNultys' fault. If i was there i'd have twatted the bloke that did it:)

McEveley retained you say..?

Yes i agree, just like the rest of the squad. The manager is supposed to sort this sort of thing out isn't he?

I think Clough has done this with McEveley ie gone out of his way to praise him when he's had an ordinary game. (I don't mean a stinker.) He's publicly backed him and talked him up.

Which adds to the mystery of why McNulty gets so much grief.

Had a spell where he really looked the part when stepping in for others, what's to say he won't do that again?

There is a benefit to having a regular partnership at the back. Compare manure's urrrgg 2 cb's against Chelsea's Terry and Cahill. I am sure Clough knows this, however probably forgot during his feuds with certain players, whoever's fault that was.

There was even talk at one point that Bob Harris was going to struggle to get his spot back, he did though and that was only because someone was needed at CB and that someone was McEveley, all this is if memory serves me right.

Yes he perhaps did WHF, but he certainly tried to get McEveley out as he dropped him and played a partnership of either Brayford, Basham or Kennedy for quite a few consecutive games.

Jeez. I'd prefer Matt Hill, now, and he's been injured for most of the season.

He looked a damn site better at centre half than he did at left back! I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or a bad thing.

true - but it's definitely a bad thing he's still here.
injured most of the run in with a long term incurable injury.
Mistake ridden in the few games he has played in that time.
Clough 0/10 on that one.
Who in the club thinks this is a good decision :?
Why would you keep a failed manager who's first decision is to do something this stupid :?
If you don't overrule surely to God you ask a question - particularly when many have been injured for much of the season.
Shambles - not cursed. Except with stupidity. :blue:

Not a fan of him as a footballer, but I admire the attitude he's shown all season. If he's purely going to act as cover, and the wages are low, then I have no problem with him being retained.

To be fair to him he played well earlier in the season and won me over, especially with the performance at QPR. Having said that if we want to get out of of this league we need better than him in the starting 11.

A baffling decision to keep. Thought clough was being ruthless in not keeping Doyle, Holt and even Davies (done ok but we need better) and then he resigns McEveley and takes up options on other players who look nowhere near first team players. Not a good start if Clough is given another chance.

Davies is still a Blackpool player and we will have to wait and see what options they are taking up in his contract. I think Clough knows Blackpool wont be able to afford carrying on paying his wages, so we may snap him up cheaply. Dont think Clough is being ruthless to Davies

weve kept him incase we sack or sell the cbs we sign before the start of the season.
