Interesting words...
and a bit more since:
Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe wants an end to Kyle Naughton's transfer saga.
The Daily Mail says Naughton, 20, is keen on Everton, believing he has a better chance of regular first-team football at Goodison Park than with Tottenham.
McCabe said: "It won't go on much longer. Unless these clubs satisfy our requirements by Friday I'll pull the shutters down. The rumours have gone on for a few days and that's unhealthy."
and a bit more since:
If a transfer is done – as seems most likely – McCabe believes several signings will swiftly follow.
He said: "There are quite a few players we are negotiating to buy. One or two are big names for big sums. We have signed three so far and others are likely to be joining."
McCabe stressed that neither Naughton nor Walker had been put on the market.
He said: "There have been approaches for the two youngsters that we have not been able to stop. In many respects this is unwanted.
"If we had got promoted last season there would have been no issue at all. As it is, when Premier League clubs come in you can't deny the opportunity. It's the way of the world."
