McCabe Ultimatum?

From elsewhere, very unconfirmed at this stage (and would differ slightly from what he said earlier):

"The chatter around the Lane from a very good source tells me.

McCabe understands the feelings of the fans and really wants to pull the plug on BOTH deals. These deals were instigated by guess who (not Mccabe) but you already know who. Mccabe has already made his feelings known to the press.

There have been cancellations of season tickets because of all this and the chairman cannot have that sort of feeling amongst the fans.

McCabe is about to U turn this and keep both for one more season and add to the squad, he is prepared to go for broke. The problem he has is that everything has got out of hand and it may be too difficult to stop it.

Blackwell wants to keep them and he has told his chairman without them we have no chance whatsoever is getting promotion.

Lets hope its not too late."

Well Foxy it sounds like its shit or bust time, it also sounds like McCabe's feelings are echoing a lot of the fans feelings about the situation. The downside is that it sounds like he may be about to blow the "solid business foundation" totally out of the water. Which is fine if it works but doesn't bear thinking about if it doesn't.

I asked this on the Sheffield Forum, what does it mean by 'These deals were instigated by guess who (not Mccabe) but you already know who.'

If this is true and the plug gets pulled then it'd be a fantastic move as well as a great turn around

Terry Robinson is the man i'd suggest the comment is regarding.

Ok, I thought that might be the case.

I personally thought Everton may have instigated the whole transfers though to be honest

Its all probably bullshit, but if it is true... "instigate" might just be a poor choice of word.

Or.... Everton "instigated" the transfer, Mr Robinson "instigated" the current deal.

Who knows, think things will become a bit clearer over the next 48 hours though.

If it is Robinson... why did McCabe let him do it?
and he should go away from the club totally if TR set it up and these are McCabe's feelings.

If this mornings reports are true then McCabe has lost out to Robinson.

Only if the rumour about McCabe not being happy with the transfers is true, which has absolutely no substantiating evidence.

Yes. Totally true. Or even that the statement was 'Leaked' in order to try & placate the fans. But then he would'nt be so cynical would he?

So time's up then?

Can I assume that Kyle and Kyle didn't travel to Hungary?

Friday's up.
Does that mean we've got them for another season?
Absolutely not.
Yet another lie?
Absolutely.

Absolutely.

I suppose you know exactly the happenings that have gone on between the clubs yesterday then?

When a bloke can lie without lying, I don't know why he bothers at all.

McCabe said: "It won't go on much longer. Unless these clubs satisfy our requirements by Friday I'll pull the shutters down. The rumours have gone on for a few days and that's unhealthy."

I think Kevin McCabe has been fantastic for United. He's put a lot of his own time and money into the club that he supports. He's not just some flash bugger jumping onto the Buy A Football Club bandwagon. I can also remember when we were indeed a skint club, with inept or greedy board members - Hinchcliffe and Woolhouse - and a comedy chairman - Reg Brealey. At least now we are a well-run club and don't have a mountain of debt to try and manage, like Man Utd and Liverpool have.

BUT, and it's a big but, I wonder if Kevin McCabe could be at least a little more honest with us, the fans. He didn't come out of the James Beattie saga too well. If he'd simply said "we're selling James because he's getting paid more money than we can afford" then he'd get a bit more respect than he did from the whole affair.

And now to the two Kyles. Have Everton and Spurs "satisfied United's requirements?" Either way I think it would be nice to know. A statement from United one way or the other would be good. Did he tell them to do one on Saturday morning? Will the Kyles be in the squad for the 09/10 season?
I think that United fans who were ready to back McCabe to the hilt will start to turn against him, and soon. Will he indeed tell both clubs to do one if there hasn't been a deal sorted? Or will he give them more time to sign our two brightest young prospects?

If McCabe at least said something along the lines of "Yes, we are selling them if the price is right, and we won't rush them but we need the money" it would be better than trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
We aren't the sheeppigs of S6. We can see through waffle and bullshit. We don't think everything will be fine if we just bring our paintbrush. We'd like to be told the truth, one way or the other.

So what's happening Mr.McCabe? Are they going or have you pulled the shutters down? Just tell us. We might not like the answer but we'll respect you more for telling the truth than we will if you try to bullshit us.

I said earlier in the thread, he tends to bullshit and thats that, would we believe the truth if he told us? You'd still have the cynics, due to how many blatant white lies he's told, and he is fantastic at evading questions.
While I understand business can sometimes be cloak and dagger, to lose the confidence of your fans is what I see as the kiss of death. United unfortunatly has a history of this kind of bullshit....and it will always be that way. Still love them though ~sighs~

With millions of pounds on the table and lawyers tagging every point why on earth would we expect the fans to be kept in the circle? When it's done or not done is the only time we should expect anything. But the media demands comment every day so they either imply it, twist a neutral comment or make it up as in "I've heard ....." until someone comments etc. So we wait until its done, frustrating yes but things are always easy when it's not your money or job on the line.

On radio sheffield live, he said that Beattie was not being sold, then days later bye bye beattie...so I understand what you mean come from away, but when you are on live tv/radio your quotes are your own, can't blame anyone.

But what does he say? A response was being demanded, a deal was clearly in progress but not done - could go belly up at anytime until sealed - you try to be as straight as you can but "I love you" could be a commitment or a question depending on what you want to hear.

He should have said anything but "James BT isn't going" then sell him days later.

As you say, its his job on the line, and if looses fans but telling lies then he will be outed by smelly feet in the car park!

He actually said, a deal for James Beattie hadn't been done and that he'd only leave if it was for the good of the club.

"for the good of the club" is down to opinion, but i'd hardly call any of it blatent lies.

you got the interview lying around someplace?
I thought he said he wasn't going to be sold, he's a united player and that if he was to go we had a valid replacement for him..... Ward????

thats the lie then.... valid replacement for BT

He was claiming we had a replacement lined up should he go.

Lita and well we all know how that ended up.

Thats exactly what McCabe said he was very careful to leave his options open.
