Does anyone having new , constructive or even slightly varied to add to this twice weekly debate ? Or shall we proceed straight on to the thrice weekly warnock is a twat epidemic sweeping this message board like agent smith in the matrix
?
I've not really read... but has anyone per chance mentioned the Kyle's yet?

Cracks me up when some of the 'captains of industry' on here slag McCabe off for being a clueless businessman.

Has this debate been done to death or is it just the last refuge for the perpetual s24su trolls? That said, they can't discuss the games as they've not been since 2011.

Shouldn't debate be encouraged on a messageboard. There used to be one called viewpoints. Clue was sort of in the name. One person likes McCabe another one doesn't. Many posts follow and get read. Perhaps stupidly I thought thats how it worked.

Seeing as he is in charge of our club I would fully expect many threads to be about him. Either that or we could have a serial wankathon about a shed if you prefer?

Of course he doesn't want to be here bit if you can't see he has protected his investment and is only putting in the minimum at the moment you must be going senile.

Only when they run out of valid reasoned arguments do people usually turn to personal abuse

Get yer head outta yer arse ............................... I have had more personal abuse on this forum than any other that I use or have used, same goes for anyone else who is not a Kevin McCabe fan.

This whole "Kevin McCabe fan" bullshit is closer to "happy clappers/bigger fan" than you dare fancy. Use phrases like that and you're going to be insulted.

I said if you use bullshit phrases like "Kevin McCabe fan". If you're so retarded as to think that people either agree with you or are a fan of Kevin McCabe then you deserve all the insults thrown at you.

This is exactly what I'm talking about.
If you're unable to engage in a measured conversation without resorting to such nonsense, what right do you have to expect other people to do the same?

This is what metalblade just can't compute. He constantly spites utters shite about the club and McCabe (from his armchair because he's not prepared to make the 4 mile trip to BDTBL) and if you take him to task about it, the limitation of his argument is that you're a Kevin McCabe fan.

Nobody gives metalblade as much grief as me, but I'm huge critic of McCabe. It's more than possible to be very critical of McCabe, yet understand that not everything he does is bad.

But you know the type. That sad twat who lives in an armchair and knows the answer to everything, yet nothing. At least Jim Royle is funny.

To be fair, you were one of them. Which on reflection, was very harsh. On the other two.

McWobbleGob has been the worst thing to happen to the Blades since we were formed.

The freehold trick was predictable, a Blades who charges 10% on loans to the club when high street banks were lending at less than 5% tells me all I need/want to know about him.
He shud be tarred n' feather then run out of town.

TWAT !

I guess your a big fan of programmes like Conspiracy theories
and loan rates , yes you can 50k on 5%
but you borrow 10 million and try and get a rate under 15%, ring wonga up and see how much 1 million is over an unspecified term
I found the cheapest over 100k to be 9.5 % for only 175000 as a business loan
we have current debts of around 26 million
10% is at the levels we are borrowing really quite good

But it's not debate. It's the same posts over and over again.

There's no reasoned discussion, just constant dogmatic bollocks and wrist slitting and if you disagree you're a clapper/bigger blade/insert tedious nickname.

If we lose a game, there's no constructive comment on what went wrong, just the general abuse of players/staff and 'end is nigh' melodrama. I suspect some people find it tedious, I question why you spend hours/days of your life on something you clearly no longer derive any pleasure from.

You make too many assumptions. Perhaps people do derive pleasure from it. Been watching the blades for in excess of 40 years and it still gives me a thrill. Doesnt mean I am not bitterly frustrated at the opportunities we have let slip through our fingers because of our piss stain of a chaiman/owner. Also being a blade isn't something you can give up because you are pissed off with the chairman. Christ if you could we wouldnt have any fans left.
I think there are many more pissed than I am and more negative. I can't understand the, but it doesn't mean they aren't as entitled to their view as you or I.

Bladesway, some of us, me included recognise the financial contribution the McCabe family have made to the club over the years. I am grateful for that. Yes, he may have made mistakes, but I can't believe this was by design or as part of some evil plan in mind to destroy the club. Why?

The company accounts which have been audited by Grant Thornton a well respected major accounting firm show how the owners of our club have lost over £24m in the last two years.

The fact that McCabe was born in Sheffield and is a local lad made good can only be a positive thing. Perish the thought that we would end by like Blackburn or Portsmouth. Owned by Indian chicken farmers, etc.

I just don't get it. Why do you Metal and Beighton continually carp on about the damage McCabe has done when without his resources we would be doomed.

Get with it, and don't call me any naughty names just because I oppose your negative view.

Apologies fella (from one who gets frustrated with the serial club bashers), but with his resources came his decisions. The upshot is we're in tens of millions more debt, a division below, with a corner of the ground filled in on the plus side.

The best defence I can offer for McCabe is that I believe his intentions were honorable. But the upshot was that he failed miserably and we all paid the price.

UTB

Yes, but it could be a lot worse.

Don't forget we haven't won anything of merit for over 85 years. (Some would have you believe this is also McCabe's fault). Realistically we should be a solid established mid table + championship team, and every ten years or so, in turn, we might make it to the premiership. This is important to be able to keep our best young players.

Over the years many teams like us suffer highs and lows, slings and arrows. You only have to look at the league tables to spot the changes in fortunes of teams over the years. In any event it doesn't mean as a fan you have to suffer and sometimes you have to lose to win. (There can be pleasure in this. ;))

The last two seasons to my mind have been strangely enjoyable, with the odd frustration and set back. Visiting different grounds, having a laugh and always in contention, last year right to the end. This year also, we have a big chance.

I don't think on balance McCabe has failed miserably, mistakes yes, misjudgements some, and his tenure is not over yet. I do know that he has lost a lot of money, and I bet if he read this thread he might have wondered why. After all he is a Blade isn't he?

HH

PS - Kevin, don't forget my prawn sandwiches in the Exec. box at the next match.

For once a sensible post which I just about agree with.

The thing is HH I see things a little darker than some, IMO we are still paying the price of KM's mistakes, when I say "we" I mean us the fans a generation who have only ever known 1 season in the top flight. I don't see KM paying the price I see him collecting interest on loans, the Tevez cash (SUFC were cheated not just KM) I see him bit by bit building useless hotels and business centres proposed flats etc on land that he has hived off from the football club, land given by an old duke as a place of entertainment for the people of Sheffield not to line the pockets of a local boy made good. It may be all good and legal but i'll tell yer summat it's fookin immoral, there will be no sporting traditions left when the remaining land is full of offices and student flats or when SUFC move to the DVS.

I reckon when Mcabe first took over he saw a means of lining his pockets as well as being a hero with Blades who wouldn't have in his position in that era times now have changed dramatically.

He is now in a position where he has to run the club very shrewdly to balance the books and keep the fans as sweet as he can.

If it any consolation to you he'll be suffering but he'll see the job through he's no option

Serious question. In the late 90's (or whenver it was) with KM finding a few extra million quid burning a hole in his back pocket and was wondering what to do with it, do you think he was advised to invest in in that mediocre second tier football club in Sheffield as that looked like a pretty good way to make his money grow?
