McCabe has to go

I have many criticisms of how McCabe has run the club, his business decisions, share issues way back when, splitting the club up into different companies etc etc, and he has to hold his hands up to overseeing the worst (or second worst, depending on your point of view) period in our history.
Here's the thing: I'm happy he's our chairman. I would be worried if he sold up.

Is that sort of logic beyond people / a minority view / unfashionable in the fickle football world ?
I hope not.

If we are to get anywhere in the next few years McCabe has to sell up along with the fake sheikh.

This window was the perfect opportunity to show a bit of ambition. Nothing crazy just the opportunity to back wilder and see what he can do with a bit of sensible investment. Considering we've received 6/7 million in sales.

And we have spent nothing we've made a profit of 4/5 million. McCabe please leave

So you want to squander £'s on wankers who would play for any old cunt who was daft enough to pay them what they want and would also fuck off to the next pay check at a drop of a hat?

Great plan mate,

How am i wrong we have got the sell ons say 6/7 million plus what a team promoted should be spending aalike to how wigan, bristol city have done in prvious years say 3/4 million

We have spent what 3 million at a guess , how am i wrong , are people happy that wilder has barely been backed ?

As it stands we are on for a top 10 finish. While strengthening the team is important who is to say Wilder didn't get everyone he reasonably wanted? Who is to say he isn't getting the backing? There is no evidence to say he isn't. None at all.

You always want to move forward but it has to be at a reasonable and sustainable level. Just lashing out the money on whoever just because we have it in the bank is what caused the issues in the first place.

I just cannot understand where you can criticise the club right now. They are doing the right things and the spirit in the club is excellent. You seem to want to just spend money because it is there.

TBH graf I think the voices slagging McCabe for not 'backing the manager' are now few. He has backed CW (or we would have heard it from CW himself) to the 'best of his ability'. He can't compete with the multi billionaires and the reward for failure amounts of PL money coming into the championship.

Something is going to happen, it can't go on like this, rich clubs, rich players on a million a month vs clubs on the brink of bankruptcy and talented players sat on the sidelines unable to play competitive football until negotiations begin in January.

That's not sustainable!

Yer not really a clown are you?

'As it stands we are on for a top 10 finish' - and how the fuck do you come to that conclusion ??

Hahahah ok mate so your happy with the board of your club showing 0 ambition , we should have spent money without the incoming sell ons. We have made 4/5 mill this transfer window.
Looks like McCabes happy to ride the wilder wave and show that he doesn't have to invest in the team.
And no I'm not asking for a boom or bust transfer spending just a few decent up and coming signs to show we're ambitious in the championship. WE HAVE SPENT NOTHING

This deluded porker has outed himself . He writes of 'your' club . Well you little bacon sizzler, United are . OUR club. Oh and BTW. your as in your happy is YOU're
Ask your mate, the one with the singe brain cell to share it around.

Not at all we have made the best value for money signings easily. But that's down to wilder. Imagine what he could do if he could have spent the whole sell on fees we received. Again we have spent nothing compared with what we have received

We'll be reight.

hes ethos is not to save money is it ?
It's more value for money ,

Well, I'd say his ethos was to sign the right type of player, one who fits a specific criteria, a player who has all the same qualities and attributes as the current squad, who will give absolutely everything for the team, every time he pulls on a shirt.

It doesn't follow that because a player is valued at five million or has scored 30 goals that he will fit that blueprint or Integrate with the existing squad, in fact such a player would more likely upset the equilibrium.

You only have to look at your own team, to see that spending millions on overinflated fees and wages does not guarantee success. But wait until 24th September, when you've seen us play, you'll have a better understanding of what Wilders about ;)

McCabe has made many mistakes, the worst probably being the appointment of Robson, but over the years the one thing he has got right is the pricing.

In the last 10 years the big population movement has been to inner city living and big student complexes.

Bramall Lane is ideally located to take advantage of this, but the pricing also needs to be right to attract students and professionals who have recently moved to the city centre. Unlike our neighbours, I think this is an area we've excelled and whilst I think our overall fan base is still behind theirs, in recent seasons the gap has closed considerably,

Give McCabe some credit, because 30+ years ago when I was watching United in the old 3rd division I didn't think I'd see a crowd of 25,000 again, never mind an average crowd of 25,000.

McCabe has made some poor footballing decisions, but credit where it's due, he's got the pricing right to attract the new supporters to Sheffield and that will place us in good stead for the future,

Hi Kev

If I was, I could guarantee you I wouldn't be sat at home in High Green posting on this forum......I'd be somewhere nice and sunny.

Sorry, I haven't got a clue how you quote on this forum :).

In no way shape or form am I criticising what he's done for this club he has done some great stuff. But I think if peopl can't recognise that we need new ownership to go from a oh we can't compete bottom half team to a promotion aiming team we likely need new owners as McCabe won't provide these funds.

And no I'm not a pig

Great plan mate,

Where did I say that ? Pretty sure I said sensible investment

We do have the money we just got 6/7 mill from sell ons ?
My mate just sold his house for 350 000 pounds, a clear profit of 80 000. He went out and bought a Ferrari and took his wife and kids on a 5 star luxury holiday but when they came home they had nowhere to live, his wife is on the game his kids in care and he sleeps in a sleeping bag on Fargate.

In terms of investment we have also got Coutts, Fleck, Freeman and Billy to sign new and longer contracts. That's as good if not better than signing new players as they are all proven performers for our team. Imagine if we had lost Coutts or Fleck? How would you replace them? Would cost a fortune and not easy to find players of that quality.
I am not that bothered about loosing out on the two loan deals. It means Brooks is more likely to get game time. I know he is thought of as a number 10 but I see him coming on for last 30 minutes and playing virtually as a striker. With his pace and dribbling ability I can see him being a really potent player for us and contributing a few goals. I see us spending more money in the JTW when we know more about where we are and what areas need strengthening and hopefully we can even get Leonard for not a lot of money.

Unfortunately, there is no news of a new contract for Fleck. Hopefully we get Fleck and O'Connell signed up. They have less than two years on present deals.

Be careful what you wish for.

For every Abramavich, there's a Venky (Blackburn).

Whatever people may think about McCabe, he does have the best interests of the club at heart. He may have made some terrible footballing decisions, but he's done a brilliant job in capturing the latest generation of football supporters who have moved to Sheffield. I remember the days of rattling around The Lane with 9000 other supporters.

Would I want someone throwing money at our club like Abramavich? - I'm not sure I would, for me clubs like Chelski and Man City have lost their soul. Even their supporters have turned into spoilt brats.

Overall I'm happy with the job McCabe has done. I would like to see more investment, but it depends at what price to the future of the club......I wouldn't want to end up like Blackburn or Portsmouth.

Out of interest, what's the situation with Bolton these days? I thought they had debts of £100million+, yet they seem to continue as though nothing is wrong.

Why doesn't he sleep in the Ferarri?
