Mcburnie

At least we can agree on that point. You've still not answered as to why we only count from Luton? Why do you think that is?
From the guy only counting from a game and a half ago?

The Luton game was his second start of the season. The game before he was desperately unlucky if I recall correctly. The Luton game was the 4th game or so of the season. It's a while ago now.

You can keep making your point if you want but the facts speak for themselves and your opinion has blinded you.

I value your opinion. Thanks.

if we stay up he’s at minimum a competent PL forward

If we go down he’s a lethal a championship top scorer contender

Even in his wilderness years McBurnie always contributed defensively, I know that wasn't his specific job but since signing he has always been our best all round header of the ball, which for a team of United's limitations is a big plus point.

I think he's matured both as a player and as a person. He is game has come on from the raw footballer he was when we signed him. We should be tying him down on a decent length contract and reaping the benefits of his being coached by PH. I guarantee that iif be was allowed to leave at the end of the season, once set of fans would be rubbing their hands. Underrated player. He just needs to keep fit. That's his issue.

Obviously it's when he ended his goal drought.
So the stats are talking about his current form, not his past form.
It's seems your version would start his stats from primary school.

I'll settle from when he joined us, seems more realistic.

Do you think he's been a good signing based on performances and availability?

Him top scoring in our first premier season and in our promotion season make him a good signing on their own IMO. If he'd shown similar form/ availability in the middle seasons he'd have been an incredible signing. So just good as it is.

Sheffield United must tie down some of its key players and big names of the future for the sake of the 'long-term health of the club'. That's according to manager Paul Heckingbottom,
“Club” might not want to many long term contracts, when Dozy et Al takes over and the brass comes flooding in we might want a degree of cleaning the slate a bit for all our big name incomings YHIHF

True but it would border on negligence to let player contracts run down and to then pass on the club with either no player assets or the risk of losing your assets, therefore putting the clubs status under threat. Would new owners want that as well?

Anyway, according to some on here we seem to be as far away from a takeover as ever and PA said he would run the club as if he was here forever, so he needs to ensure he does and safeguard our assets

How about being happy with how he is now?
I'm extremely happy with his last game and a half. Just pointing out that the posted stats are skewed. By that logic Archer will score 100 premier league goals in his next 100 premier league matches for us. They're simply statistics that can be applied however you want to try and make a point.

Any games before that you're happy with?

Who gives a fuck?

But the only thing that matters is how he’s doing now. And he’s been doing it for the last 12 months now. Since the last time he came back from a lengthy injury.
I disagree that he's been doing it for the last 12 months but wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment that it's all about how he performs in the present. If he can keep up the level he's shown in his last 2 appearances I'll be delighted.

During our nightmare season, I seem to remember he was one of our only hopes when defending corners. I also get the impression he's a big figure in the dressing room. I wouldn't be at all surprised if a bigger pull for McAtee coming back was McBurnie rather than his love of the blades (though I'm sure that featured).

He's a shithouse but mores the point, he's OUR shithouse. Get extension signed!

Maybe it's easier to stick to not liking someone, than change your mind?
It's not about liking him. It's about how he can improve Sheffield United. I think all things considered he's been a poor signing overall. That's an opinion. If you disagree that's fine, that's your opinion and your perogative.

Wasn’t he right up there in the scoring charts last season? Alongside his strike partner, despite having far fewer appearances?

Check out his goal involvements per minutes played in the last 12 months. It couldn’t be objectively described as any less than good by anyone without an agenda.
