I just despair! How thick and self entitled is the average modern footballer. They get so much money thrown at them and get they don't even get the basics of good behaviour.

As said above they see the goings on at Derby and do the same thing.

Stop fucking about taking pictures of yourself in your stupid designer gear, getting pissed in trendy bars to put on your "insta" and start living up to your £20 million price tag.

I have got news for you Ollie. You haven't made it yet and you are about to screw up your big chance.

What a dickhead! Not got off to the best of starts at all here. Starting to look like we should have gone all out for Maupay since he has been playing well at Brighton.

Not good at all!!
Time for him to sort himself out!!
Talk about making yourself a target. It's not like he was driving a ford focus either. If the cops saw you driving an R8 they would be looking for any excuse to pull you over. I'm not defending him btw. Just showing how much he has been stupid.
I wonder what CW makes of it all. No doubt he will be fuming.

God Wilder will tear him a new one for sure - he’s lucky he’s only made himself look like an idiot rather than anything serious coming from it - maybe when he accepts the consequences and punishment for his bad decision he will get a grip and wise up to things like this

And for 400 quid a week he could get someone to drive him all the time. The fuckin idiot might have to now.
Dear Oli

I'm willing to offer my services as your personal chauffeur, between the hours of 7pm and 5am, all I require is £1000pw, and access to your girlfriend in my lunch hour.
If this proposal is of interest to you, and she doesn't smell of piss, then feel free to contact me.

Regards.

BB.

Wow. Throw him under the bus guys.

Did anybody read the article? It says caught on "Friday morning" - before we just write him off, maybe this was after he'd been to bed, slept it off etc and was still a tad over like we all are and have done.

If this is the early hours and he's driving home from the bars then yeah, what a cock

May be this part of the club's culture should change.

As players you can still go out and enjoy yourselves without the use of excessive alcohol.

The conversation between manager and player could be as uncomfortable for Wilder as it is for McBurnie.

Given our famous uselessness after international breaks, there might be a genuine issue here?

He's already starting to get grief over his performances from some of the restless minority and now he goes and does this. Not the best way to endear yourself to the new fan base.

I imagine wilder has ripped him a new one over the weekend and I'll be amazed if he starts tonight. He probably wouldn't be on the bench if the squad wasn't so tight with numbers

Players train on a Friday, so if it was at 8 or something, it's no better that he went out the night before.

EDIT - just seen another article (Mirror) who are stating the 'early hours of Friday, following a night out in West Yorkshire'.

Assuming the other 4 are fit, then he could quite easily not make the bench > Mousset and McGoldrick in the XI. Sharp and Robinson on the bench.

Take your point but we aren’t professional sportsmen struggling to make an impact in our chosen field.

In this day and age for a professional footballer you have to sacrifice the 18-30 party life and just be a ‘boring’ millionaire.

Jail time for drink driving? No wonder our prisons are full. He'll get a fine and a ban.
Depends how much he was over the limit by.......if he was legless, jail time is a possibility.......he really is becoming a liability.........he needs to ditch the social media and stone island and start knuckling down or the door beckons for him!

To be fair I didn’t notice that...
He should have still got a taxi... like surely he must have felt a bit rough to still be over the limit in the morning. & the consequences for anyone who makes the bad decision to drink drive are bad - never mind been a footballer and having it all in the press to deal with on top. Just hope he gets a grip when it all blows over.

Not sure what your point is.......drink driving is drink driving.......and it’s just the latest nonsense he’s been involved in........hope he knuckles down from here on in.

Sounds to me like you are right. But this coupled with the fact people seem to think he’s a waste of money was always likely to cause a meltdown on here.

Well if he did get jail time I'd have no sympathy, what an utter cunt. If what happened in Derby not long ago is not a wake up call to young footballers then nothing is.
Luckily for Oli his stupid actions haven't hurt or killed anyone but he is now coming across as a prize prick and a big time Charlie who thinks he can do as he pleases. He needs to learn to keep his gob shut if he hasn't anything good to say and needs to learn acting the hooli with Swansea fans is not really acceptable you don't see that from Maguire or Walker when they turn up at a United game.
Drink driving FFS words fail me it is not like he can't afford a taxi ........................... in an Audi R8 too a road going race car. I hope his Instagram shows his next insurance premium for that bastard he will be in need of Premier League wages or it will be a Citroen C1 for him. 🔔end.

It was the early hours and he was on his was back from a night out, according to the Mirror.

He's a prick for drink driving, and needs to start acting like a professional 20m player.

While he's been generally average so far, he could still be an excellent signing for us and score goals for us to keep us up.

These statements are not mutually exclusive, but I'm sure our supporters will continue to naively write players off like that they have done in the past.

Unfortunately not. Like the two Derby idiots, United have invested a large sum in McBurnie. I'm sure 'gross misconduct' is a sackable offence, but not when we've blown £17m+ and the players know it.
Show this 'big-time Charlie' Marc McNulty if he needs advice on his future career. My sympathy is with CW on this, but no background checks can disclose a fucking idiot.

Whatever way you look at it it’s a stupid decision on his part. Depending on the facts though it’s either just stupid or stupid and unforgivable. If he has had a pint or two mixed with non alcoholic drinks and thought he was fine to drive that’s very different to he was on the lash and decided he couldn’t be arsed to get a taxi.
On a side note we didn’t choose between him and Maupay. Maupay didn’t want to come, we tried to sign both.

Why is that conversation going to be in any way uncomfortable for Wilder?

Not sure what your point is.......drink driving is drink driving

We've all got home at midnight, or later. Had 7 hours kip and felt a bit rough the next day. This is why the cops sit in bus stops around Xmas time.

Seems though that he's been caught in the early hours.. what a complete tit.

Stupid either way, but depending on which story it is, there's two different levels of stupid

Who goes on a night out into the early hours and takes the car? I can't get my head round it.
Agreed. I could almost understand it if he'd been out for a meal or something and 'risked it'. Still bad, but to intentionally go on a night out until the early hours (which suggests drinking a lot) and then drive, is a level above.

Twat. I’ve stuck up for him countless times but I’ll never stick up for drink drivers. Especially when they could afford to get a taxi to the moon and back.

This is especially idiotic considering the publicity with Lawrence and Bennett at Derby. Ok he hasnt crashed and might have only had 3 pints but why even risk it? He could get a taxi anywhere he wanted.

Don't forget he wore a jumper with an owl on it
