McBurnie - Accused of stomping on a Forest fan

I'm not condemning McBurnie, I'm questioning why all the players weren't straight off the pitch given the crowd invasion. Not to mention why the same player seems to keep finding himself in similar situations. When others never are. I don't personally believe in coincidences.

Typical journos a stamp has now become a kick . Definition of a kick " To strike or propel forcibly with the foot."

From the deliberately edited video where has that action occurred? There is no visible evidence to suggest it has other than a verbal statement that could have possibly been added into the video later. Unfortunately as usual the powers that be, the FA in this case and the media, pick up on orchestrated agendas and blow them out of proportion to suit their narrative.
Just to add the narrative is already changing. Florist fans are now saying Mcb's alleged incident is potentially worse than the attack on Sharp as they send off their e mails to the FA after they've read that the ground could potentially be closed for the first few games of next season.

SUFC have declined to comment publicly on this but I hope they are providing evidence to the FA and EPL of players other than Sharp being attacked. Sometimes it is important to be on the front foot when dealing with spurious allegations.

As an aside, whilst his career is destined to go on to bigger and better things, that's the one bit you have to admire about MGW. He has fully and whole heartedly committed to everything here - he gets it, he understands the squad mentality. He's been an absolute joy to have around the place.
Yeah he’s part of a great bunch. Not every loanee buys into things, but he has and I think he’s developed a lot during the season

Did he manage to strike the target with any of those kicks though? 90 odd appearances and seven goals would say otherwise.

A number of us have given our thoughts as to why the players weren’t straight off the pitch. We’re not talking a long timeline. Our players were getting off the pitch but these flashpoints appear to have occurred very quickly

Its hardly a stamp is it ?

And if having thousands of forest fans all trying to attack you isn't a provocation then what is

Deserves a new contract IMO for protecting our Bill and Brewster

Hes OUR STRIKER HES OUR NUMBER NINE

DOESNT SCORE MANY GOALS

BUT HE STARTS LOTS OF FIGHTS
That should say doesn't score ANY goals.

This is a very good reason to sack the useless lump.
Cant put the ball in the net but always up for a fight.
Sack him.
& before anyone jumps in & says ‘He’s defending his team mates’. If he played football with as much effort as he puts into fighting then he’d be okay.
Sooner that number 9 squad number is off his back the better.
Absolute CUNT.

Hey, Seth. It’s a grumble.

Hang on mate... You don't believe in coincidences?!

Not sure I've ever heard anyone say that. Not even Le Tissier😄

Le Tissier probably doesn't go on cruises because he's scared that the boat will fall off.
On a serious side-note, cruise ships are horrific for the environment.

I felt I had to mention that.

Forest fans have descended into fully fledged whataboutery, insisting that the mcburnie vid is more damning than the video of Sharp getting taken out. Utterly amazing. If that video ends up being whats used to condemn Mcburnie then it's a joke.

Mcburnie accused of stamping on someone. Here's the conclusive evidence m'lud. A short snippet of video where you can't see his feet.

I'm not a McBurnie fan and I've made no secret of that, but from what I've heard from people who were there (forest fans), this was absolutely not his fault.

Two injured players, one who's only 25 and one who's only 22, protecting themselves and each other against a baying mob of thugs.

Both nursing long term injuries as it is, they could have genuinely had their careers ended by those dickheads last night. Heartbreaking for the players and a potential financial nightmare for the club (see : JoC for an example).

Fair play to defend yourselves in that situation.

I'm aware it looks like the fan is on the floor, but I've been told that the fella apparently slipped over trying to fight Brewster and McB, so I'd argue that making sure he stays down is perfectly excusable in this instance.

It's what they teach kids at martial arts classes...if you put someone down, make sure they stay down before you turn your back
In martial arts you're taught, when facing more than one opponent, to absolubtley do as much damage as possible to any attackers. Mainly so they can't get back up and pose a threat again.
Not saying that's the case here, I actually see no stamp, but I'm. sure Oli has had some training.

Note: I think it's already clear from my previous posts that I'm no Oli fan.

Well I for one am pleased to see the squad mentality and team spirit we have.

You need cool heads on the pitch most of the time but it was good to see the desire to stick up for each other.

Everyone off the bench including the injured players when Hecky was a bit silly and then hanging around at the end to watch out for each other instead of running to cower in the dressing room.

I think they were still taking in what happened with the penalties. Kinda stood there shocked.
I dunno.

Plenty of provocation, just seen Billy get butted and no doubt other things kicking off as well but can't condone that whatsoever....not sure it was a "stamp" but either way he needs the book throwing at him just as much as their fan does....

Yep, guy who did Sharp and Mcburnie are no better than each other

Blindsiding an innocent man who happens to be a former player of your club/losing temper with someone harrassing you in street and maybe kicking someone in self defense/defense of a colleague.

Maybe they were making sure there teammates got off the pitch safely and shaking hands with the opposition? Perfectly normal thing to do

Fair point. Having read the thread then the clip seems not to have that much context.

Just my opinion. Would I clip someone who had a go at a mate? Yeah probably, but if I was caught I'd also expect to get done for assault, as unfair as that might seem.

I think the wider issue is security, or lack of to be more accurate, around the pitch. I don't know the answer but a handful of minimum wage stewards isn't one of them

Looks like his foot was caught underneath the guy that ‘fell’ down in front of him. Bearing in mind he’s got a massive boot on it, he seems to be moving his foot to get it out from under the weight.

Exactly. Not sure what everyone else is seeing but based on that clip alone there is zero evidence he stamped on anyone. Might have had a quick kick but that's about it.

Looks like a melee where he lost his footing due to the massive boot on his other foot.

It looks like Brewster is pushed, possibly accidentally, by the Forest fan who ends up on the floor. After that, you can't really see anything.

I've got sucked into a debate with a Forest fan on twitter about this. He's trying to equate last night to the pitch invasion after we beat them in the FA Cup under Clough. He's conveniently ignoring that while we may have been on the pitch there was no disorder involving the players.

They also can't say they weren't warned that day as we did frequently sing that if Porter scored we'd be on the pitch.

Top man, just what you need when it's on top. What would you saintly fuckers have done if your mate was getting slapped, run off and found a policeman? Fuck me some of you live such a sanitized life I don't know how you'd cope if anything serious happened.
