Fulham set to offer £10 Mill guaranteed plus a player. Cant see us bagging this one and even if we did get an offer accepted they'd just double his wage over what we offered.
 

Fulham linked heavily today, happy to meet their asking price with 10mil + a player

I don't have an issue with that. If they're willing to meet and we aren't then that's it really isn't it?
 
I’m my opinion we’re a bit screwed as regards wages and transfer fees , the Prince has paid McCabe 50-60 million for buying the property and the reduction in income due to Covid 19 so funds are limited this season I don’t think it would have been any better under McCabe either he’s always been BBC after getting his money back .
Hopefully with another season in the premier league the prince will loosen the purse strings a bit , we’ve just got to make it through this season , think it’s going to be tough

Covid or not, even The Star says that last seasons PL prize money for us is £132.6m.
The £50/60m being paid to McCabe is in the form of a mortgage based on £10m a year for 5/6 years.
Only last year many of footballs 'financial experts' (not on this forum) were saying that in the PL, gate money was so insignificant compared to prize money that clubs could let fans in for virtually nothing.

Don't you understand there's a huge uncertainty around the future of football as we know it too?
There's been barely any business in the PL so far.

Even Liverpool reportedly have to sell to buy 30mil Thiago from Bayern

would agree is you were commenting on the last 3 games but the previous 4 to those were brilliant we just ran out of steam due to a small squad.
 
Not to be overly negative but feel like this could be replayed over and over this summer.

We aren’t going to get players over the line if other teams are willing to just double their wages over what we can offer. Agents aren’t going to let their clients sign for us without testing the market first.

We might have to settle for some of our second choice targets (Burke instead of cash for example). It’s a shame but understandable in the current Economic climate.

If Villa had been awarded a victory we would have averaged 1.4 points per game post lockdown. Which would have given us 54 points over a season.

We finished on 54 points.

However you slice it, any player coming up untried from the championship is a risk.
We’ve took some, most so far have paid off.
At that price their risk is even bigger seeing as its for a defender...where errors lead to goals.
Errors from forwards might mean a missed chance, but there’s so much more riding on defending well against these better sides they need more than good players they need a good manager too, as well as a system that works.
That’s where we have the advantage with regards these players moving up through the leagues.

Burke from what I know is a wide player rather than a central attacking midfielder, so can’t see him being a swift alternative. I might be wrong but I could see us looking to use him when we need more forward endeavour instead of baldock.

Burke will be aimed at being RWB cover I’m fairly sure. If we sign Cash we won’t sign swift. Cash and Burke would probably both be competing for the RWB and RCM roles.

We have been linked with Cash and Swift for months now they need to either get the deals done or move on.

Can see this season being a struggle especially without any upgrades on the squad, Would take 4th from bottom now.
Was in the bookies earlier and someone was asking for a price on Utd to be relegated. 😕
