Brookes didn’t have the effect on the game as he did at Millwall but still scored the all important second goal with a neat finish even when nursing an injury at the time.

We could be winning the games in the first hour and swapping over to the above backups.

Very frustrating watching us at the minute, cough up a soft goal! Look like we're dont give a toss, then turn it on and look like a top championship side playing & scoring great goals, we've got some very good players playing at times Very good football, were we finish in the league is anybody guess, I know its been a difficult season but oddly enough im enjoying it more than last season, blades are not going down, so let's just give it a go, and see were it takes us.. Oxford came with a plan to stop us playing. Cheap blocks, subtle pushes in the back, niggle fouls, closes down man with the ball. 2 men on Brooks. Watch for Seriki's overlaps. Although, not sure goalie fumble was in the plan!!! So all this talk of how bad we played was due to Oxford killing the game as often as possible. Referee bought most of their theatrics.
Crappy conditions kinda helped them more than us and we didn't have the quality, other than Gus, to break em down until the 40th or so minute. Arblaster produced that quality to Burrows to Peck...the quality that was lacking....starting showing again.
A great battling performance over the 90, deserved win, 3 points.....move on

Decent performance, showed some character against what can be a resilient side on thier day .

Some mistakes but no one had a stinker and some nice moves and moments thrown in .

Not as good as Saturday but a satisfying win

Predictably Oxford came to put everyone behind the ball then bomb up field like the clappers when they got the ball. We worked patiently with the ball eventually starting to break them down as half time approached.

They seemed determined to use every play in the dark arts playbook at least once, stealing yards at throw ins, feigning injury, wasting time, trying to get players booked/sent off etc so it was particularly pleasing to leave them wallowing in the mire with Wednesday.

Agree with this. It always takes time to break down well-organised teams who come to sit in - and often it’s not pretty. We weren’t great, but we were patient, kept probing, and eventually found the openings we needed to score three very well-taken goals.

Without the goalkeeping howler that’s a comfortable 3-0 win against a determined but very limited opposition.
