Thread for discussion of the upcoming EFL Trophy fixture.

Can't wait for a shit attendance and Wilder playing the Academy kids.

Blades to pound the premiership champions into dust.

Seems we can game ourselves out of the competition/selection rules by taking advantage of this ridiculousness:

http://mobile.efl.com/news/article/...-new-disciplinary-rules-in-place-3279215.aspx

So theoretically, Wilder could play the 5 first teamers, sub two of the "5 first teamers" and then in the last few minutes, get the 3 remain first teamers on the pitch to call the ref a 'cunt' whilst the two subbed players call the linesman and 4th official a 'twatting twat'

5 red card - This would ensure that the game would continue and not be abandoned, but the 5 first teamers banned for 2 games.

Perfect!

This really is a joke of a competition isn't it.
Unlike other cup competitions, suspensions from league games don't count, and being sent off in these games aren't included for future league games. Bet any player dismissed last weekend is gutted this game won't count towards their suspension.
Probably partly why done, because no half decent player was ever going to play in it anyway so would be a free game towards the suspension.
Wonder what's next?

Bit annoyed at the moment. Been waiting since Thursday to find out whether im in Automatic Cup Tie Scheme. But whether its coincidence or money its Tuesday morning & ive no idea if ive bought a ticket or not

I was ok with B teams as i rather in old JPT than a stupid League 3. But it kind of had merit as man city B that has win last 2 youth cups (i think) has a bigger budget than majority of teams competing in old JPT but instead of being stubbon the football league should have ditched the idea once the likes of Man Utd/City Liverpool Arsenal Chelsea Tottenham all declined. Because they are the only keeping the flimsy idea afloat & i think it could be 1 season wonder because imagine the millions lost & embarassment of empty Wembley with derby u21 v reading u21

Im glad im not the Crawley announcer welcome to the checkatrade trophy here at the checkatrade stadium :)

The fixture may not be exactly a top-of-the-table thriller but it might be beneficial to United, and eventually us supporters, as it might feature some of the players we hope to move on out. A good last chance "shop window" performance before the transfer window closes, hopefully gaining valuable resource to help bring in better players.

It might also be a good opportunity to wave goodbye to players that we don't rate

I very rarely sit in the John Street stand or buy food in the ground, but coming straight from work I needed some food. The big sign saysv Fish And Chips' so I asked for that. 'We don't do fish' came the reply. Well why have a big sign saying fish and chips then?
I food I had was pretty poor too. I eat at most away grounds and the food is fine. We need to improve on this!

Still no start for Whiteman

We're in some kind of danger of winning this. Surely we have no intention of winning this game? There best be a 93rd minute OG.
