[MATCH OFF] Weather threat to Burton game

It isn’t called off because of the pitch so I’m not sure the question is relevant

Of course it's relevant. The other pitches will be unplayable because they'll be frozen and covered in snow. Ours is playable but the game's still off and from the photos on the website it looks like the club didn't even try to shift any of the snow inside and outside the ground.

To be fair to Leon (not Clarke), I see zero evidence of genuine, informed Trotskyism in those who have vindictively collapsed Crab Inc. on here.

In fact, I suspect Trotsky would’ve enjoyed the satire of The Crab, and seen it as authentic “entryism”. In that respect, at least, the S24SU “trots” have likely missed a trick.

Entryism, not heard that word since LYDON invited me to an Atkinsons Afternoon Tea.

It's a pathetic early decision taken by namby pamby, "Health & Safety", hide under your table, more than my jobs worth idiots.

It's snowing. Do wish it wouldn't.

what’s with the craze on bread? people who don’t even eat bread are going mad for it.. warbies must have made a killing this week :)

Not sure to be honest. We never use any more bread when the weather is bad then we do any other time. I've bought some packet rice and a few tins of stuff but that's about it. I can understand a bit more the rush on Milk as it's nice to have a brew, have it on cereals, etc.

Friday night in Sainsburys is usually pretty quiet but it was full of fucking part timers last night filling their trolleys.

Yes all the criticism utd has got for being soft & too health and safety conscious. But if you look at 4 leagues below the premier league, there were scheduled 42 games today, only 11 games are still taking place & 31 have been postponed

Champ ---5 on - 5 off
League 1 3 - 7
League 2 2 - 9
Conf ------ 1 - 10

So with all the premier league games to be played today...............is this because the clubs don't give a toss about fans? or because there's that much money in that league, the councils make the extra effort to clear ground surroundings?

Of the 6 postponed championship games only Brentford and Ipswich don't have under soil heating.

It seems Aston Villa, Wolves, Barnsley and United haven't made enough effort to get the stadium surrounds cleared.:)

Having just negotiated sheet ice on the side streets around my home, I for one am delighted that the game is off. To call it off so early did seem a little strange however.

Wolves is off too with a frozen pitch.............obviously spent money on players rather than undersoil heating and desso's.

If they have heating, they can't afford to switch it on anymore.

For me yes actually sky sports have spent 10m a game on pl rights for every televised game so postponement is harder to do because of tv pressures. But thats not just football 42 yrs ago on Formula 1. Japanese gp wouldve been called off in usual circumstances but for 1 of the 1st times tv was taking it live. So they were forced to race in the heavy rain

Wednesday fans having a different opinion to others they are more health and safety conscious ;):D

I've been walking through town this afternoon and there was virtually no snow on pavements/roads. It's pretty ridiculous the came was called off over two days before actual match day.
Thanks for the feedback, I suspect the club hasn't a clue when some of us who live way outside Sheff decide to buy a ST or other bundle we do it on the assumption a fair proportion will be on Satdies and Sundies when we can make it. As we seem to cancel at the drop of a hat and appear to have become Sheffield Tuesday and Friday it blows a hole in the logic of buying a ST or bundle.

I went round our stadium a couple of hours ago (about 16:30). The car park was bare/ice free and the surrounding pavements were mainly just slush. Nothing a bit of grit wouldn't sort out. Roads normal.

Couldn't see behind the turnstiles etc but I'm pretty sure it's nothing a small number of staff couldn't have sorted out - not to mention the many volunteers the club could've got.

So from what I can see, it was indeed unnecessary to call it off.

I've also been past ground this afternoon. Roads and car park clear, ridiculous decision to postpone.

Totally agree with this post. I've had a ST this season and I also can only make weekend games. I doubt I'll be able to make the rearranged fixture!. I'm gonna to have look at the financial aspect of renewing my ST if we only play a few home games at a weekend next season no matter what division we're in?. The midweek games are a big no due to work commitments.

Anyone think it's because we had a couple of injuries and to give them extra time to be fit for Tuesday also rest of players rested more where Fulham have 2 games in 4 days
