It's selfish people like you who have caused us to cancel the game tomorrow!

;)

Well I was to blame, not the weather. Wrong footwear (it started snowing after I had left home for the pub) and too much ale for the conditions.

No, don`t think he would have had any say in the decision.

The decision will have come from Utd liasing with the council, H&SE, & SYP.

I`m just annoyed cos instead of watching my beloved, I am now forced to watch the wife squeezing into Primark bargains saying `The sizes must be wrong`, and buying 6 packs of out of date crisps from Jack Fultons.
You see I reckon he would have had some input.

Anyway not got time for this. I need to think how I'm going to fill the void tomorrow before the wife does it for me and I end up bumping into you on the crisp aisle at Fultons.

"Following a deluge of snow across the South West, stadium staff have been working tirelessly to clear the car parks, seating deck and surrounding areas.

The Ashton Gate pitch has undersoil heating, ensuring it will be fit for tomorrow’s game.

Avon & Somerset Police are happy with the roads leading to the stadium, with the M4, M5, A4 Portway, A369 and A370 all open.

Opponents Sheffield Wednesday will be travelling down to Bristol today to ensure they are in position to fulfil the fixture.

The club advises supporters to allow extra time to travel, noting that some smaller roads close to the stadium are difficult to access by car, so would advise fans to park further away and walk the final part.

Alternatively, where possible, fans should utilise public transport, with some local buses due to re-open their services this afternoon.

Fans attending the game are urged to plan ahead, wrapping up warm in the icy temperatures. Due to supply challenges, food and drink stocks will also be limited from the concourse concessions."

How they do it in Bristol.

No buses running today and no guarantee that there will be tomorrow if you look at the bus company's information, roads near the stadium expected to remain inaccessible so park away and walk, shortage of catering supplies so wrap up warm and they're supposed to be the bloody softy southerners!!!!

I'll be surprised if they do get it played mind you but what a hell of a difference in approach!

yes putting saturday income before fans safety, its the way forward
and if a city player slips and lets in a wednesday player to score a break away goal it might cost them a play off spot
why risk playing in conditions that help the poorer side

take us to beat burton , but playing themin a blizzard might curtail our chances

Anyone remember that game at BDTBL in the promotion season (06) against Crewe? Seem to recall that one almost got called off.

We were 2nd and they were rock bottom. Should have absolutely hammered them but instead played out a turgid 0-0 in dire conditions.
That was in 2004 when we finished 8th, 0-0 and cadermarteri hit the woodwork about 3 times.

Never been so cold, maybe a part from the Derby away game in the same season.

Def 2006 Finchley. 0-0 draw and nailed on pen not given for Akinbyi. Agree about the Derby one though, although I seem to remember it being like that twice around then.

It must be that the Prince has already taken over, and it's against his religious beliefs to play Saturday or something...The first Saturday game in ages and it's postponed ffs...Oh well,I'll get the Boxing on and hope results are kind to us.

Clashes with the Birdwell Pigeon Fanciers AGM, coppers couldn't do both. Proper kicked off last year when the pies were late.

Oddly enough the number of pigeons locally has quadrupled in the short time Crab Industries was hounded out of business by the Trots.

Fulton's have got an entire AISLE of crisps?!?!

What the fuck have I been doing all these years on a Satdi afternoon ?

Brentford V Cardiff off now. That's four from the Championship including ours. Expect a few more.

Saturday's Championship game between Brentford and Cardiff City has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

Referee Matt Foley took the decision following an inspection of the Griffin Park pitch on Friday afternoon.

such a surprise , is it cold back home

has the sun come out and melted all the snow in sheffielld this afternoon as some expected

The Pigeon increase had almost nothing to do with the closure. As for the rest, don't want to get involved mate, peace and love and all that.

To be fair to them, whilst the main roads are fine... Having walked into work all week, my walk home tonight was the worst it's been all week. 5/10 mins walk from the lane I set off from and it was like an ice rink for the first 10 mins.

I believe it was police advice that originally sparked it, but I'd imagine with Tues night we wouldn't have busted a gut.

Put another list up of the lower league games called off due to unplayable pitches to justify your argument.

If the snow comes down badly tonight it might prove a justifiable decision but the forecast wasn't bad at all when it was called off. Considering a pitiful away following from a hour away, I don't see the panic to pull the game early.

As the reason is surrounding areas be Interesting to see if the boxing goes ahead considering several thousand should be attending.

To be fair to Leon (not Clarke), I see zero evidence of genuine, informed Trotskyism in those who have vindictively collapsed Crab Inc. on here.

In fact, I suspect Trotsky would’ve enjoyed the satire of The Crab, and seen it as authentic “entryism”. In that respect, at least, the S24SU “trots” have likely missed a trick.

Serious question, of all the postponed games so far are United the only one off where the home club has undersoil heating?

Because we have a bigger game on Tuesday.

That’s a serious answer. I reckon that’s why
