It'll cause unwanted fixture congestion and midweek games are often more unpredictable.

I hope it's rearranged for Tuesday 13th March between Ipswich away and Forest at home.

Seriously, when you read about days off school and days off work due to adverse weather it makes me fucking weep. It was honestly zero in my day and a few on here will back me up on this.

You're so right. I remember walking 3 miles to school on numerous occasions and then also walking 5 miles to work as I got older. The snow never bothers me now but the whole country seems to grind to a standstill whenever it snows!. They're just big softies nowadays. Utb

This. My Dad won't go to the night games for whatever reason, and even though I'm nearly 30, I still like going to the football with my Dad, I just take him now instead of him taking me haha.. The opportunities are few and far between.

I was born in 95 so the heaviest snow I've seen was 2010 but based on accounts from others, things still carried on in snow 4x this severity back int day. Makes you wonder where things are heading.

So we'll have the week off over Christmas when the weather is usually fine and have to slot those three games in elsewhere, then hit February when the bad weather tends to be and have a load of games postponed. Cue managers complaining of fixture congestion at the arse-end of the season.

I like Saturday games too but I’m 64 and if that makes me one of your “older fans” trust me: I really don’t mind “going out at night”.

Sensible move on a number of counts.

I have sympathy with the Cricketers and other local businesses but also the closer you leave it, the more people will be spending hard earned on transport they don’t need.

On the football side, 2 clear injuries from mid-week. There may be other knocks too. Playing and getting 3 points would be great. Rushing into the fixture, having an understrength strikeforce and not doing, wouldn’t.

Our main strike force has so far been either Sharp and Clarke or Sharp and Brooks. 2 of those three would have been out. Next time we play Burton they could both be fit.

I think we play the long game, rest well to give us the best chance possible vs Fulham and sit back and watch Derby and Fulham take points off each other.

I live near the ground just got to work at Leeds like I have done all week with no real issues. The roads around the ground are clear. South stand car park doesn’t even look too bad. A bit of shovelling and a load of grit on the car park, kop steps, the pavements right outside the ground and in the stands and I really don’t see why it’s off. United must be hoping for a load more snow or they’re going to look a bit silly. Seems the boxing is going ahead. Let’s see if the Barnsley match is off.

We just seem very quick to call matches off not sure who is the main group who pushes for it off. Seem to remember one around Xmas a few years ago was the only one in England called off. It was ok around the ground on that occasion as well.

We've a good four inches of settled snow and hills everywhere you look. I might not have bothered.

As I said earlier, I don't think it was necessarily the club pushing for this but the council/Police not wanting to encourage non-essential travel and the Police not wanting to commit resources to a leisure activity when they've better things to do. But the club has everyone's addresses and will have a rough idea of where people have to travel from. If we all lived on Shoreham Street, the story may have been different.

winter break would have to be feb. in this country that's when we get the most snow..

But the issue is, for the club to say match on, they are taking that decision away from however many members of staff they'd need to get the game on (office staff, ground staff, stewards, kiosk staff) and compelling them to make potentially dangerous journeys.

I don't think I'd take the risk for NMW.

It originally showed no more snow from 10am this morning. Now shows heavy snow through tonight and tomorrow morning.

I'd hazard it wasn't so much a club decision but more a Police and SAG (council) one.

And the forecast has changed again and all that snow has gone.

It would have been stupid to call it off at 12.00 on Saturday but surely Friday tea time would have been fine an Burton could have been told not to travel until a decision was made. Did they really need 48 hours notice?

It will look a stupid decision on Saturday with just the odd patch of snow on a few footpaths.

But the club has everyone's addresses and will have a rough idea of where people have to travel from.
