So after the strong performance last week lifting us back to the top of the table, it's the relatively short trip to Nottingham to face Forest. A very difficult game in prospect but their fans don't sound all that optimistic....

Anyway

Any team news? :)

Apart from replacing Basham same lineup as last week?

Hopefully McGoldrick only needed for part of the game bearing in mind his 4 bookings?

Is Duffy fit.

Will Egan be brought back yet?

Forest obviously had a tough mid-week game, but as they made 10 changes for that it really won't be an issue for the players but the crowd could get restless if things don't seem to be going their way. Anyway fingers crossed, and ill stick my neck out for a 2-1 Blades victory. Reckon a draw is quite likely though.

Safe journey all. Be loud, be proud.

Well I hope we smash em, got a bet in will my boss(Forrest fan), he thinks it will be the same result as Derby, im still sure we can get 3 points, even though i think itll be a draw, really hope we turn up and give them a lesson in how to be TOP OF THE LEAGUE!!
COYRAWW!!!

Please a win, my first away game and had a death in the family last night.

Taking my emotion out of it, I never have a great feeling about Forest away. Just hope we don’t lose. Last win I recall was during the Blackwell era on a Tuesday night. One of the most uninspiring 1-0 away wins I’ve ever seen.

A scenario of a point today, 3 on Friday and I’d shake hands with the footballing gods right now.

The Blades will cheer you up pal. (Sorry to hear of your loss btw).

I'm usually optimistic, but I'm more than optimistic about this one, I'll tell you why...

From what I've read it seems like Forest are not very good at holding onto the ball. Their fans were saying that they can't string more than a couple of passes together. I think it's possible to be an effective team without being a good passing side. Look at the old Wimbledon team, or our team under Bassett. We weren't a great passing side, but the sheer pace and energy that went into our game made us difficult to beat. However...

The problem Forest will face today will be this: We are so good at holding onto the ball that they'll have very limited options to hurt us. They've obviously got some very talented individual players that they've spent decent money on. But they can't do much if they've not got the ball, simple as that really.

I'm looking forward to what I think should be a total football performance from the Blades today - and one which ends in a win. Mind you...we outplayed them last season and managed to lose so...

Looking forward to this one. Always a bit spicy with the Forest fans.
How on earth we managed to lose there last year was mystifying as we played some great stuff, gifted them the goals and didn’t get the rub of the green at the end when Carter-Vickers hit the post.
I’ll go for 1-1 but if Duffy plays we might just sneak it. 2-1 Blades
Here’s hoping the Blades take your mind off things Rob86. Sorry for your loss mate

If this game was being played two weeks ago or in two weeks I would really fancy us to win it. However I think a few minds will be directed towards next Friday and that could scupper us today.

Hope I am wrong but I think we may struggle today.

We always "bounce" back after a defeat, so not to worry if it goes tits up today.

I won't be watching today as I'm off going to watch some Queer Short Films at the cinema in Leeds. GLTTL tho.

An exciting game like the one we had in 1971 4th Sept would do very nicely,we won 3-2.

Tough one today. We'll have to be on top form to get 3 points.

That’s my view too.

If we beat Forest today, then I’d be really doubtful that we’d also win next week.
Have a strong feeling that we’ll draw, or even lose today.
We’ll lose our place at the top of the table
Then go back top of the table by beating Wednesday next Friday.

Hope I’m wrong, would love us to gain 6 points and be gauranteed staying top just before the international break.

Could be a debut for Cranie if Egan’s not fit enough to start. Fancy Sharp to get one if he plays – often seems to get a goal against former teams. If Duffy isn’t right I’d be happy for us to play McGoldrick in that role again.

It will be a big ask for cranie to make his debut here having played no minutes at all this season. Hope Egan is fit

Debut for Cranie anyway, Bash can't play, so could see Stears back in, but I'd guess Egan will play today, wouldn't risk Duffy from the start though, maybe 20mins when were 3-1 up, could see the same team v Wigan, with Cranie in for Bash.

Never thought I'd say it 2 years ago,but Bash will be a big miss with his mobility and marauding runs forward in support when we attack...Think they are witout Colbeck through suspension aswell.
Fancy a Blades win though,a draw wouldn't be bad either...2-1 Blades, Clarke and a late Sharp winner for United.

I’m not sure I remember a better atmosphere than that in my lifetime. Incredible night.

I didn’t realise how poor our defence were back then, absolutely suicidal at times.

I also didn’t realise what a gifted attacking force Forest had with Huckerby, Johnson, Harewood, Lester and Reid in behind. They tore us to shreds at times.

But in the end, the mighty Blades felled the Forest!
