That might be true but I wonder if tonights performance has changed Pulis's mind to keep him as back up, especially if Boro don't sign another winger. I think it all depends mainly on whether boro get that winger in. We'll find out soon enough!
 
Latest I've read on Johnson is that he played as a left wing back tonight - at least to start the match and scored as a left wing back. As others have said. One article I read said that Millwall are interested in Johnson and Fletcher as well as another as possible swaps for Saville going. I can't imagine Millwall letting a key player go at this late stage without also having a replacement.

Might be just lazy journalism but I can see why Millwall would want a makeweight as part of the deal.

That could be a problem. Because Boro could block any moves to other clubs as long as the Saville deal's still on the table.

We better not be too reliant on signing Boro players, that's for sure.
 
Boro fan. Johnson is surplus to requirements, so it looks is fletcher. Millwall are close to savilles replacement and is expected to sign soon. Pulis has said he wants at least one winger, with pace. He also said he expects a busy few days with incomings and outgoings. No one will leave without replacements first though.
 
Well I'm disappointed, only 25 pages before Wilder put all our eggs in one basket and let him slip through our fingers.

Jason Puncheon likely? Maybe then we'll get Johnson. We've been linked with Fletcher too!

If Puncheon happens we get Johnson, all agreed for a couple of weeks.

Utd thought this would happen on the same day we signed Norwood.

Wonder if Boro get another centre forward in and we get Fletcher too?! I'd prefer a fit and younger Fletcher to a slightly older, unfit and overpaid Hogan but Wilder will get it right I'm sure. Wonder if Fletcher would be a loan to permanent if it happens.

Hogan is a top player IMO, when fit of course, Fletcher seems to be the back up plan.

I do think if neither of these happens we will take a punt on a Premier loan...I hope...

Can`t go into the next part of the season with 3 strikers (I`m not including Lavery!).
 
If the rumour of Leonard to Millwall has any substance it could be a replacement for Boro bound Seville, which could be the negotiation ploy for Johnson.

At least one addituknam striker is still the main issue for us.

2 days and 5 hours to go means it's all a bit tight.

I agree on Hogan if fit, but that's the big question. The two weeks international break should help but that's assuming he's able to do full training. Then there's the doubt over his indifferent form at Villa but maybe that's due to style of play and I'm confident Wilder could get the best out of a fully fit Hogan. Wilder, like Harry and Warnock too, is able to get an extra 20% out of his playing squad - as a rule. Odd exceptions like James Wilson.

Latest from Pulis. Here's hoping they get that man asap! From what I've seen of Johnson he'd give us another option on the left.
