Boro fans think very little of him.

But he is rapid and a winger so I assume he can put a cross in. Might find a home at wing back.

Wait and see, worth a punt I suppose. Can’t be much worse than Stevens.

Reminds me very much of the Chris Hussey situation when Lafferty came in, Wilder addressed it very early in the season and it worked wonders

Appears to be just a championship version of the Hussey upgrade (hopefully so anyway)

Wait for the view from...
Boro fans think he’s absolutely shite from what I’ve seen

He can apparently play anywhere across the front line, as a winger or LWB. Importantly he adds pace
Our new striker will be sorted

Always wary of other fans' views. Particularly when it sounds like he's being brought in to play a different position.
Not sure about that.

Generally speaking apart from sour Coventry fans and Brentford fans (regarding JOC who was dropping a division in fairness) they’ve not been far wrong in my view.

Maybe also worth checking Oxford supporters' view of him - quite different I would expect.

Not expecting a glowing reference from M'boro as they won't have seen the best of him - he struggled to dislodge Friend from the team and had limited opportunities although I'm still surprised they let him go.

Whilst he's played up front previously, he'll have been bought (in Jan) as an upgrade to Stevens and Lafferty - if Saturday didn't convince CW it is required, nothing ever will.

Got some views earlier for Johnson and they aren't good. Let's hope Boro was just the wrong club for him.

Wonder if it's a loan to buy like Norwood or just a loan ? Nothing to lose on this one and could prove to be a very astute acquisition.

Big fan of this. Gives us something we lack in abundance... pace! His pace & versatility is much needed. I’m sure he used to play left back at times for Oxford?

Just need a striker now and I’ll be very happy with our business this summer.

if this is our striker god help us this season

He won’t be - in wilders interview he said the striker was going to be the last one up to the deadline.

I’d Be pleased with this - some genuinely decent pace by all accounts. Can play a number of positions and only in loan so low risk.

If he’s pencilled in at left back shows that wilder can see we need some attaining imputus from there.

On the basis of Wilders interview
Norwood is loan with definite buy (£2 million is figure mentioned)
The other one this week I.e Johnson is loan with option to buy ( they apparently paid £2.5 million for him)
The striker will be a loan .

Do you honestly think every good player performs well absolutely everywhere they go? Imagine the views on Leon Clarke before we signed him. I'd take Jota from Birmingham in a heartbeat and Brum fans absolutely hate him right now.

I should think he couldn’t dislodge Friend considering he’s a winger and Friend a left back.

I think it’s right to be wary when we’re signing a player from a championship club (the only one he’s played for) for the championship, and they think he’s dreadful.

He is the option that wilder has been looking for ever since he realised that Nathan Thomas was not good enough ( at the moment)

Many might have seen this and these videos can be misleading but can see why he cost Boro 2.5m. Has some pace and a decent left peg from these clips. Very direct, proper winger. Not sure if he'll be good enough defensively if he comes in at LWB but certainly looks promising whatever.
