Having seen him frequently for OUFC (but admittedly not for M'boro), I would be confident in saying he'd be a big upgrade on both Stevens and Lafferty.

Quite an imposing size, quick, athletic, skillful and attack minded (he has previously played left wing and up front) - would be a good capture if it's possible.

He’s on Boro bench? Surly they won’t loan him out.

No idea I was making a joke about Matt Done

From what wilder said the two first signings were a loan with an obligation to sign And a Loan with a view to sign. I’d imagine Boro are sailing close to the FFP thought aren’t they?

Was he at Oxford when Wilder was there?

You've said exactly what I'd say about him there, but as you've seen more of him than me, what's he like defensively? Could he play in a back 4 at this level?

I've seen him play as LB, LWB and LM for Oxford. I wouldn't say he's a specialist left back and always appeared happier going forward than back. However with Utd playing with wingbacks and especially with JOC as LCB, I think he'd suit Utd's system well and love the opportunity of getting forward a lot. Very different physical builds but I think he'd certainly be more of a Freeman type than a Lafferty type if that helps at all.

Does he have much pace?

Oxford you say Steve-Martin-King-Tut.jpg

They are trying to get Bolasie and Besic. 2 won’t be in the matchday squad any longer.

Pace 89 on FIFA. Not got time for games these days but assume that means he’s quick.

Throw enough shit at the wall and some of it is bound to stick.

He said we were signing Jay Da Silva day after day. He was adamant about it that he was correct.

I’m going to say Max is more reliable than him.

He was adamant we weren't in for Luke Freeman as well. He does get a fair bit right but it's his arrogance about knowing things which grates. When you're about eight people down the football rumour chain, I've no idea how you can be so sure.

He chucks darts and occasionally lands one in the treble twenty due to the law of averages and the principle that if you lob enough shit, some will stick. That’s all.

Same with Nixon

I'd say Nixon is a touch different. He seems to get most things generally right. But it's so close to the signing actually happening that it's leaked out in a few places at the same time.

I imagine Nixon has a lot of close relationships with Agents rather than clubs.

He seems a skilfull player and good to watch but very attacking minded. He seems to be mentioned on here as competition for Stevens, but is he really defensively good enough? I can see him as more of a replacement for Holmes as the impact guy, competition for Duffy, but hope I'm wrong as Stevens role needs competition.

The problem with stevens is his attacking ability. I've said before I think Stevens would be a really good LB where he's not the main attacking outlet. If you are playing with a back 3 and a flat midfield 3 which I think CW wants to do, the wing backs need to be a real attacking threat, the 3 CB''s and to a lesser extent CM's should be able to provide the defensive cover.

Neither Stevens or baldock seem to be capable of putting a ball into the box. Maybe that is by instruction from CW to pass and dribble into the goal, maybe it's cause it's not a tool in their armoury.

I agree he's better suited as a left back. To be fair he did set up the goal today from the cross that was point to McGoldrick. If Johnson can defend then he seems a great option if he comes in.

Boro fans think very little of him.

But he is rapid and a winger so I assume he can put a cross in. Might find a home at wing back.

Wait and see, worth a punt I suppose. Can’t be much worse than Stevens.
