What kind of signing would make you go 'f*ck yeah, get in, we really mean business ! '

For me it would be one of this leagues best players, by all accounts, and no arguments from any quarter.
For example, Joe Bryan, John Egan, Kieran Dowell, Luke Freeman, John Swift, Oliver Norwood, etc etc.
Not sure it's going to happen, but I live in hope.

Nahki Wells.

Jack Marriot. As much as I rate someone like Lewis Grabban I still like the up and coming signing and Marriot is still that but I think is worth the gamble.

I'd like to see Grabban too if possible! John Egan would be quality in defence, and if we're going for an attacking mid I'd love Marcus Maddison from Peterborough also, who might not cost the earth as their chairman or Barry Fry, can't remember which, said they might not get millions for Maddison this summer.

Wilders philosophy and success seems to be more about player combinations and team efficiency.
He also seems to prefer younger and hungry players, with a point to prove.
So I’m not sure how he’d cope with a tried and tested star player.

Think the best position for our marquee signing is probably up front.
Shame we didn’t bring in Jerome Sinclair on loan from Watford.
He had massive potential in his youth but seems to have disappeared off the radar these days.
Maybe we’ll go back in for him?

Also it wouldn’t surprise me if our marquee signings are just temporary loans from the PL where we make a big contribution to their massive salary. Also wonder if we’ll try to sign Blackman?

Don't need one now we've got a Desso

What is a marquee signing?
Mm, not sure if serious, but...
A marquee player is an athlete who is considered exceptionally popular, skilled, or otherwise outstanding, especially in professional sports.

Blackman permanently would be quite marquee.

Someone like Ollie McBurnie, Lewis Grabban or Benik Afobe would be marquee as fuck.

Totally. Not sniffing or delaying over paying Chelsea for Blackman and then backing that up with a couple of young PL prospects who are prepared to drop down to prove themselves a la Brooks.

I know it's not realistic, but a player like Ben Woodburn would show we mean business.

One who'd be a huuuuuuugely marquee signing is Tammy Abraham, on loan. He didn't do much in the PL for Swansea and Chelsea might prefer him to go and score 20+ goals in the Championship again. If so then we might have a decent chance.

I don't want a 'Marquee Signing', I just want us to sign the right players who fit in with the rest of the squad and makes us better. I don't care who they are, how much they cost or where they come from, as long as the manager and coaching staff are happy.

In my opinion so called marquee signings are a load of nonsense to appease overly needy fans and egotistical club owners. They are more trouble than, usually, than they are worth.

Red and White marquee required...
