He's not worth £2 and a half million had one decent season ,nothing special about him since,he might be worth a punt for a million plus add ons if he makes it.Can't see Wilder taking a gamble on him.
Isn’t he the “show-pony” with the funny hair-do?

We should always sign lots of players from Other Clubs. Other Clubs have fantastic players. All of them. Every one.

Unfortunately, Other Clubs never sell their players for anything but hugely outrageous fees and always buy at a massive discount. They are all really, really good at transfers. All of them. Every one.

Boo United.

We ❤️ Other Clubs.

Once again, you and Tufty, in tune with one another, almost as if you were twins, separated at birth......

"...One of the immediate aspects of Sheffield United’s success that sticks out is the extraordinary turnover of players. Since Wilder arrived in June 2016, 31 have arrived on permanent deals and 13 more on loan.

It is a deliberate strategy from Wilder to offer most of them shorter deals than you might expect. This is a manager attempting to sculpt a squad that he believes has bought into his vision..."

I doubt Johnson can play for anyone else if he’s played for us and boro (limited to 2 clubs a season).

So unless boro are thinking of playing him they may as well bleed us for his wages for the season....

That said he hasn’t had much of a chance yet and could still be an option. But he has to improve, he’s looked well off the pace in the limited chances he’s had so far - I can’t really think of anything he’s created / added yet

I thought he looked good when he came on as a sub at Bristol. Showed pace and an eagerness to whip in crosses first time. He does seem to have a good left foot but also it seems to go out of control at times and the ball comes off it like a wayward firework and goes into the stands. That’s a downside really!

Everyone gets a chance but this is more of an Ricky Holmes, Evans, Leonard style punt then a top quality Egan, Norwood or quality loan style additions imo.

Obviously would give him a chance if it comes off but my hopes wouldn’t be high that he’d be a contributing starter during the run in.

If Hogan has pace then with only 6 months left on Washington’s contract should we use him as the carrot in a deal for Maddison..

I think there's a very good chance we'd be trying that if it wasn't for the 3 club retard rule.

Of course. completely forgot he had played for QPR. Dont quite get what the supposed benefit of that rule is

It wouldn't be so absurd if the transfer window closed before the season started. And that obviously means the 'loan window'.

Apart from his dubious dress sense, what about him now?

Peterboro have exercised an option on him for the final year but he's an agreement with Darragh he can move on and with only that extended year left, he's going to be a steal at a couple of million I reckon, and gives flexibility elsewhere..

Left footed, can play attacking midfield down the middle or either wing. Has occasionally played left back so left wing back would seem a good combination of his talents not to mention another potential option in 'the Duffy role'.

Given how consistent Enda is, and how he is very likely to play ever game when fit after he's been one of our best performers, it will be a push to have someone come in who just plays specialist left back only to sit there. Likewise even less will be around whose specialist role is left wing back and will sign afresh only to sit it out.

10 goals and 23 assists in 45 matches. That's pretty good output. 12 goals, 23 assists the season before in 53 matches.

A track bully and suited to League One like Luke Beckett was for instance? Or a cost effective addition that would give flexibility and potentially prove to be a gem?

I'd hope anyone we go for is at least a proven championship player: the step up between L1 and the PL is enormous after all

I do take the point.

But his contribution is pretty huge for his position. 10-12 goals and 20 + assists.

We could have said the same about Duffy and I doubt his figures stacked up as well.

Duffy was also older by some way.

Its a good record but I'm struggling to think of a player that age that has made the jump straight from L1 to PL. The only players I can think of were far younger, like Dele Alli and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

All about opinions I know but I've never understood the infatuation with this lad.

In League 1 maybe, but not since.

As above, there has to be a reason he's still at that level.

I’d hope the promotion means we’ve moved on to better targets. Imo, it would have been underwhelming even at championship level.

Talk about a career going downhill. On the bench for league 2 Bolton 😳 Not even in his 30s yet!

I want this board to show some ambition. James Maddison, minimum. Perfect for the 10 role, knows the championship. Owt less smacks of mediocrity.

I've banged on about maddison for years. He'd have been a perfect Duffy replacement, though I can't see it happening now.

Maybe quitting football at 27 due to mental health. Knew something wasnt right being in league 2 in his prime.
Shame was always an electrifying player at lower levels makes you wonder what might have been if Peterborough hadn’t stood in his way when he wanted out in his early 20s

He was flying at Peterborough and was a class above at League 1 level. Like some quality players in League 1 and 2 they do have off the field issues which stops them playing at a higher level.

Still only 27 and I would have happily seen him replace Duffy at some point in the last few years.

Looks like we’ve missed out…

Glad he’s got himself a club where he can just enjoy playing football with little to no pressure.
