I'd say it's an observation and being realistic rather than defeatist. I'd be happy to sign him and think he'd be a good buy but in our position can we afford to lose any of our key players for a handful of games half way through the season?

What's that supposed to mean? I don't think any fan of any club in Europe would be over the moon that there's a tournament in the middle of the season that means we potentially have to lose players for. I don't think that means I have an 'agenda' against AFCON.

I personally think we’re still 3 players short - Doyle, AM (McAtee?) and LWB. Get those 3 positions sorted and I think we will be just fine.

Larouci isn’t ready to play every week, he looked terrible in pre-season but has been much better in the last 2 games - made a mistake against City, but hardly put a foot wrong otherwise. What he has done is show he’s a lot better than Lowe, and that’s a major concern. Should have gone for Manning on a free but chose not to for some reason.

Fwiw Southampton fans have been unimpressed with Manning, been directly at fault for few of the goals they've conceded.. and that's at championship level.

yeah seen same i wasnt impressed with manning when we beat swansea 3 - 0 last season think ryan giles is the one weve missed out on think he was only 5m wasnt he ?

He appears to my eye to be a athletic male. He uses his right foot to not only strike the ball, but to control it. His gait is likened to an apex predator. He isn't ugly but he isn't attractive either. He has scored goals and may be bilingual.

Based on the bits I've seen he looks fast and strong, has decent ball control and finishing ability. Tricky and unpredictable. All attributes we can never have too much of.

For the quoted price I think it's a no brainer if we have that much left but an obvious down side is we may lose him for a few games in January. I also hear he may be a good friend of Yasser Larouci which could have some benefits.

I don't have any opinion on his visual appearance or language skills.

I agree to a point. Unpredictable isn't a quality I look for.

Maybe not but for the price and level of player we can afford and attract, having certain players who do something unexpected could be a useful weapon.

I'm not suggesting unpredictable in the sense that he's good for 1 game and then shit for 4, I mean he may just try something random that gets us a goal out of nothing.

Guessing we've stepped away/back from this, have other priorities perhaps or moved onto a loan instead.
