West Bromwich Albion are reported to be close to completing a club record £4million deal to bring Dynamo Kyiv striker Maksim Shatskikh to The Hawthorns.
Baggies boss Bryan Robson recently admitted he was close to bringing in some more new faces and it now appears likely that the biggest of those will be Shatskikh.
It is believed the only factor holding up the deal is the Uzbekistan international's eligibility for a work permit.
However, if they are given the green light with the paperwork the 26-year-old could be an Albion player before the end of next week.
Shatskikh has spent the past seven years with Kyiv and has twice finished as the leading scorer in the Ukrainian league, as well as scoring 14 Champions League goals.
