I don't think so. If we had done, the club would probably have put something out to announce it. Plus, that sort of separation usually only happens during transfer windows, otherwise the player is more limited in their potential movement. I know that were we to release him now, he wouldn't be able to sign for another club in England. Whether that extends any further I'm not sure though.

Talks in Sweden over the summer was that he had concrete interest from several big clubs in Belgium but that they could not match our valuation of the player. AIK (whom I support in Sweden) tried to extend the loan and/or asked about Uniteds valuation of the player but it was at levels Swedish clubs can't pay. Did not look good at all in the Swedish league apart from one or two games, but apparently extremely professional, hard-working and got a lot of praise from team mates and the manager for always encouraging and motivating his team mates as well as younger lads coming up from the academy...

What a colossal waste of time, effort and money he's been. He's never shown any indication that he'll ever be good enough apart from stringing a few decent games together in the Belgian league, and should have been moved on several seasons ago. The rumours of interest from Milan was a huge red herring but seemed to convince a fair proportion of the fanbase, including quite a few on here, that he's the second coming and should instantly be installed in the team.

What is going on with him? Never looked anywhere near for us but doesn't play in the development team and we seem to think he's worth millions. Goes on loan and praised for his attitude. Doesn't make any sense.
