If it's true then I'm happy for the lad but this ultimately means he'll be gone in January

I'm pretty sure that Championship clubs will be sniffing around a 19 year-old in League 1 who is good enough for Under-21 level. Especially in the financial state we're in.It doesn't mean any thing. All it means is that is skills have been recognized by England and they want him to play under 21's

Totally agree. He's not good enough. He's steady enough in division 3 but he will never be a top class player as he's not got the pace.
Am not knocking him, he's a good honest lad but a Jagielka or a Cahill he is not.

He's probably been one of our best players so far this season (not really saying much but...) teams that see a 19 year old been called up for under-21s must think he has very good potential. I don't think he's Prem quality but did anybody think Lowton was? And he's one of the favourites at Villa! He's not good enough. So he's not good enough for teams like top championship or even lower Prem, i.e. Wigan, Reading, Southampton etc. Maybe not world class but definately will be a premiership regular.

Reading of the game is also important and I'll give ya a couple not world beaters but dingle mick, kevin moran, tony adams also the black pearl of inchicore O AH Paul Mcgrath, non of whom were lighting quick but could read a game, also Cahill is shit 2 1 footed and vastly overated just cause we had him on loan should'nt blinker what ya see on a regular basis. He's not good enough. In the more immediate future will he be gone on saturday? Because if he is we have a CB problem with matt hill and mchaon injured who is going to partner collins?
I heard Martin Keown spout bollocks on Football Focus at the weekend stating that no one thought Jagielka was that good before Moyes took a chance on him and the Everton coaching staff turned him into an England regular. Now all those of us who watched Jags on a regular basis knew that he was a class above so it's clear that Keown is just another of those pundits who cannot see outside the big six. Maybe h thought he was just a goal keeper?
.
Didn't see Keown but I'll own up to not thinking Jags was good enough to be an England regular.
Remember his debut at Huddersfield when I thought he'd never even make a regular for us. Remember him being played out of position by Warnock and that whilst he had the pace and athleticism of a modern centre half I though he wasn't good enough on the ball.
More than anything thought he didn't quite have the edge and confidence to make it in the Prem.
But I thought Everton was exactly the right club for him - understated, lowsih expectations and few billy big times. He'd have been overwhelmed at that stage at a bigger/richer club.
He got the chance to develop and grow and hats off to Moyes for making the most of him. Great player and one of too few great blokes in the game.
Harry doesn't need pace.. his postional play is outstanding (like JT).. like metal says.. gone in January.. probably with his mate George Long
Keown can't see outside the Emirates, never mind the big six.. his bias is quite astonishing for a BBC pundit
