Yes I agree it’s strange. Very strange that your writing off a player we’ve signed as an “abject failure” before he’s even kicked a ball for us. A failure based on what? You don’t fancy him? Most level minded Blades will give a player the chance to prove himself and let’s be honest we’ve all been proven wrong.
Back in 1988 I wasn’t that impressed with the 30k we shelled out for a scrawny lanky streak of piss called Brian Deane ..... 😯 😁

You had this stored up didn't you? My comments were made BEFORE he signed but don't let facts get in the way of your agenda.

30k, 10 million (or whatever, club record anyway), bit of a difference isn't it? I'm not writing him off. I just think it's a huge gamble given our outlay. Let's hope it pays off.

Presumably can’t play in the opening game. Shame - nailed on to score against his old side.

Can anyone explain to me how I’m going to tell the difference between him and Robinson from the back of the Kop?
Seem to remember the entire Romanian team in the 1994 World Cup sporting the same bleached crew cut, maybe we could adopt a similar approach by collectively adopting this hairdo ?

Not sure it would suit JOC mind.

It is a fantastic bit of business for us in the current market

My hope from that comment is that it’s a bit less than the rumoured price. It’s one of those transfers that 6 months down the line you can imagine a Wilder interview revealing it as “not £10m – £7.5m” same way he did with Egan & Norwood’s fees.

With the additions of Callum Robinson & Lys Mousset. Could we convince the rest of the squad to go Romania World Cup 98 ?? 👱🏻👱👱🏽👱🏿

Google the words “forum lys Mousset”

Then you’ll see that the general consensus is that Mousset has huge talent, exciting and unpredictable, but it just hasn’t worked out at AFB.
Their fans believe they had no choice but to accept the deal but also many are now scared that (in the right team playing regularly) he could become a big success.

The good news is that our recruitment is really thorough.
Wilder will have been tracking him for ages and obviously has a plan to get the best out of him.

Feck off you cheeky wet sponge :D

When Arsenal signed Henry he had a terrible goal scoring record.

Now I'm not saying this lad is the same caliber however he certainly has the raw potential to be very very good for us.

I had nothing stored up. You’d already made your mind up about him. I don’t have an agenda as much as you don’t have any facts. The fee is irrelevant. My point was we will always sign players that we may not initially get excited about. Most of us though don’t write them off as “abject failures” before they’ve kicked a ball for us. Do you get where I’m coming from?

Welcome Les. Seems a good lad, put up with that awful interview.

They put all that effort into the Twitter stuff but we can't get basic interviews from the manager and the record signing himself....

Why couldn't he play ? He's our player fully and not a loan !
Ah ok.
In reply to all 4 of you who have made this point - my bad.

I thought clubs often wrote this sort of thing into permanent contracts too.

Can we please get a new interviewer....

If there was an award for most terrible question, it would be "do you want to come here and make an impact?"

"Non Monsieur. I want to come here to spend every saturday afternoon eating a pomme-frite sandwich sat on the bench and maybe at night watch Stearman chuck Stella around while I sip my Merlot...

A masterful start to the interview of our record signing too:

"So, erm, erm, Lys... the, err, the weather is bad in Sheffield isn't it?"

"Yes, haha."

"So, the weather is bad. Do you.... do you like bad weather?"

Who is he? Socially awkward bloke that cleans the bogs? Isn't Garrett around? He might prattle on but at least he has a bit of life in him. He can talk about past French players or something.

Welcome Lys!!

But that interview..... cringe. And why did the interviewer talk to him as though he cant speak good english? echoes of schteve maclaren there!!

Im sure Lys will be out top prove a point!

well done blades!

Not sure what’s with the negativity. We aren’t going to be signing any established elite level strikers this season so there will be an element of risk with all our incomings. As far as I can see this guy huge upside potential and will give another pacey and unpredictable option up top. Teams normally get relegated because they don’t score enough and we’re trying to address that as best as we can within the constraints of our budget, which I have to say has exceeded my expectations. I’m pleased so far.
