I thought we would move him.on when we got promoted as he didn't look good enough then. CW believed in him, and he had a purple patch for part of last season.

He's been good in some games, average in lots of them, poor in a few.

He cost us £700,000 and we have had 100+ appearances out of him, on a league one wage. I'd say we have had our money's worth.

He'll leave for free at the end of the season. Remember we picked McGoldrick up for free ourselves, so what comes around, goes around.

I bear him no ill will.

Totally agree, he's been cracking value for money and has been a factor in our recent success. He should get a decent contract somewhere with a signing on fee and decent wages, which will set him up for life. He's been much better value than that waste of space, Mousset.

He, along with most of our team, has been shite this season up until the last couple of weeks.

Generally, when he plays, he seems to give it his all. I can't fault him for that.

Regards his contract situation...I don't know what he gets paid, what he has asked for, or what the club has offered. However, if he thinks he can get paid more, then he is well within his rights to seek that. He's not a Blade, he's not a local lad, he's a professional doing a job. I defy anyone to claim that if they were offered 2 or 3 times their current salary, to do the same job, they would turn it down for sentimental reasons.

As long as he keeps giving 100% on the pitch for the rest of the season, if he goes, he goes with my best wishes and thanks for the last couple of years.

That is a total misconception.

This club has not "made" anybody, indeed it does not have ability to "make" anyone.

The club and it's coaches may help players achieve their best but if they're not willing to put the hard yards in themselves there's absolutely nothing the club can do to "make" them.

Personally I think Lundstram is a much better player than many people give him credit for. There's a reason that Wilder picks him on a regular basis even when we're not desperately short of players and for my money Chris is a much better judge of a player than any of the wannabe managers on here.

If he goes at the end of the season then I will wish him good luck and thank him for the significant part that he has played in our journey, not least with that pass for Mousset at Everton and that fantastic finish to beat Bournemouth at the Lane.

He played for us from 2014 to 2016. We signed the little scrote from non-league Ilkeston on the back of his whopping 9 goals in 40 games for them.
After a barely adequate 2 years for us he got his move to the bright lights of Birmingham City and promptly took to Twitter to spend all day slagging off Sheffield United - the club who gave him a career.

He’s already gone in his head, his performances did improve during January, funny that. Similar to a loan player just before he signs a contract. I would question his commitment prior to that, I really wasn’t impressed when he scored and pushed his teammates away.

His fitness which is excellent and that really helped his rise last season getting box to box, his first touch isn’t great which was the main cause of his reckless tackle resulting in the red card. We can improve on him. Oh and he always skys a shot almost every game.

All Lundstram is looking to do is to fulfil his personal ambitions. Surely that's a good trait to have?

Been comfortably our best midfielder this year and has done very well in the box to box role. Can strike a ball very cleanly, gives us physical presence / athleticism and times his late runs into the box superbly. We’ll miss him if he goes.

It's not his fault we decided to spunk money on a 5th choice striker with 17 championship games under his belt and not use the money to reinforce midfield so we've had to play him.

It's not his fault we offered him an amount he felt wasn't equitable to his market worth. Price elasticity of demand sets his market worth not him/his agent. Would you stay in your job if you knew you could earn double at the same place down the road?

It's not his fault we've been so fooking bad he's become a vital part of our team.

It's not his fault Norwood has fallen off a cliff and is as close to unplayable as we can get.

It's not his fault Berge has majorly flattered to deceive, isn't a discernable upgrade and to cap it all then got himself injured.

It's not his fault the other signings have been so shite the club aren't allowing Wilder any more signings.

But hey, let's slate the guy who's been instrumental in our upturn in the past month because he doesn't want to get a Blades Tattoo and take a big pay cut to stay.

As others have said - once he's gone, I'll instantly forget him in the same way Ryan Leonard and Lee Evans have slipped from my memory. Seems those wanting to hate on him really have wider psychological issues that probably could do with addressing...

If that's been offered and he wants more so be it. He goes with my blessing.

We’re not exactly over run with midfield options are we, I don’t feel he put his full effort in for much of the season, slowing play down, making safe lazy passes and not getting around the park as he can. Much better of late though. Just my opinion.

Wilder has said that he had been offered a contract which is in line with players of a similar stature at the club. I assume by this he means Norwood fleck etc.
Lundstram has turned it down as his agent has no doubt sounded out other clubs and aware of more money available elsewhere.
He either drops his demands which is unlikely or he moves on.

he has done well in the last two seasons when considering other players around him, has not let us down and any decision to move is his choice. It is a job of work for most players

I disagree. For most players they just want to play football, they dont see it is a job of work like working in an office or on a till. Fact they get paid for what they love doing is the bonus for most. Most players would rather be on the pitch than sat on the bench or in the stand counting their money.

The few footballing autobiographies I have read said the same thing. Just reading Paddy Kenny's and he said too doesnt see it as a job or work you get paid for doing a sport your love.

I don't think money is at the hart of this problem anyway I think this has agent written all over it, and as a free transfer he will get his move and probably a pay increase because any team that signs him on a free has a very good chance of making a profit on a resale, which is of course why we can't sell him just now.

Thing is with lunny we stuck by him when he was utterly shite, he has one good season where being, by mistake, the highest scoring defender in fantasy football, giving him cult status, went to his head and now he's fucked us off. He is better in his own head than in reality.

He has definitely been playing for himself this season right from the very first game of the season. By playing him it totally undermines the entire group but I guess needs must.

I disagree but each is entitled to an opinion.
IMO, we will need to spend far more on fees and wages to improve on Lunny than we would on a deal to keep him.

I'm not sure it's a love in, more the fact that some of us are getting fed up with everyone blaming him all the time. He's got limited attributes, but he's largely done OK. His attitude always looks ok to me. For bad attitude think Paul Devlin, Butler, and Danny Culip.

Problem is a lot of supporters have to have a boo boy whether they deserve it or not. John Gannon springs to mind. Always put a shift in, good dead ball delivery but lots of supporters hated him. Unjustly imo. Lots moaned about Coutts pre- Wilder, and I also remember lots of moaning about Basham when he played in midfield. Once he swapped to centre back, plenty realised how good he was.

Lundstram is unlikely to get legendary status, but overall I think we have had our money's worth and he's done ok. Not a love in though.
