Lundstram

Jamie Vardy has improved vastly since 24. It's all about coaching with some players. If the basics are there they can be coached to get better. Lundstram does have, IMO, the basics. He could become a very good player for us. As an aside, I learned that Knill, when manager of some team, watched Vardy and didn't rate him. Oops.

He can only be judged on the performances he has has put in so far, which have been rubbish. Much like Coutts was judged when he played under Adkins, he was rightly criticised due to putting in some truly abysmal performances. The fact he is now playing well does not mean it was wrong to criticise him. Lundstram has been poor to average so far. Hope he improves.

You really don't think that players can improve after the age of 24?
I didn't say he couldn't improve at all. Ability wise, probably
not. Experience wise, and fitter wise, yes. Even when coutts wasn't setting the world alight with us, he was coming back in the game from a bad injury. And on the ball you could see he was technically a good footballer, I don't get yet what lundsrom brings to the party. Like I said, I want him to give me a big slice of humble pie in the future.

At 24 Vardy was just finishing the season at FC Halifax Town. Apparently he can't have improved since then. ;)

There's some bollocks posted on here, but that's a cracker from Antonb

Lundstrum reminds me a lot of when Coutts joined.

You can see he's talented but at the moment it's as though he's just easing himself in and doesn't want to make mistakes so he's just jogging around and making lots of simple sideways passes happy just to keep possession.

He's only young, so we just need to be patient.

The Oxford fans loved him and he was their best player last season, which was their first back in division one where they finished not far off the play offs. He was brought in as cover but also as someone we can develop into a first 11 player.

hes 24, hes not going to be a lot better no matter who coaches him. He was brought in for direct competition for coutts. Coutts is championship quality. Lundstrom is a league one player at the moment. He has quite a bit to go to compete with coutts. He cost Half a million pounds. Don't let spin from the Manager or Alan Knill kid you. I hope he does improve enough in the near future.
We'd have said the same thing about Coutts though wouldn't we up to last season and he's turning into a legend.

Not forgetting Bob Booker's turnaround at pushing 30. ;)

Lundstram looks like he has the ability though, what he does need to improve is his decision making and that is something that can come with good coaching, it also comes with experience.

From time to time he looks immense on the ball. This is just until you realise you've mistaken Coutts for him.

I thought he was much better against Derby, closing people down faster than he has in previous games. Decent frame on him as well, gives us a bit of muscle when needed.
Cheers Grapps, you saved me typing exactly that, he will prove more than useful.

I see him as a lot better Monty as he progresses, he can break play up, can ping a pass when he wants although he doesn't quite do it quick enough yet, this will no doubt improve.

It's still early days but our lass is having to take a back seat at the minute, the Blades are back love, sorry. :D

Did OK today in the middle, but we missed Coutts' class today.
