Player Suggestion Luke Woolfenden

Not in their squad today and wasn't last time neither. He's not mentioned as injured so I'm guessing this is because he's going somewhere. We should be all over this. Decent age, played lots of football and won promotion twice for Ipswich.

Wilder said he was confident of three players in this week to prep for Derby. Of the centre halves we have been linked with, Keane & Dunne were both in the match squads today and as you say, Woolfenden wasn't.

It would have to be a big carrot surely?! Is there much point to selling One now? On the other hand we have no idea how good he will be in a few years and if we use the money to bring in Doyle for example I'd be ok with that.

would be a good signing at a good age we have to bring a centre back in from somewhere we cant carry on playing robinson its noticeable that anel hasnt looked as comfortable since souttar got injured

I just think it's where we are as a club.
We don't have the time or money to see how far these academy lads could go with us

Given we're in a yo-yo state, when are these lads ever going to get the season they need to realise their potential?
Wilder is always likely to favour seasoned pros for a promotion or relegation battle.

Selling Osula has put us in the position we're in now.
Selling Brooks got us promoted the last time.

So long as the money is right and utilised towards a promotion push (or off field investment, training ground etc.) then I think we would be wise to take it.

If Woolfenden wants to leave he should be gettable without having to lose Oné. Certainly for a club willing to spend 10 fucking million on Tom Cannon

We've been linked to him previously under Wilder. If he doesn't sign a new contract at Ipswich, I think we will 100% be in for him in summer. He does also have interest from the MLS though from what I've read. He'd be a handy pick up on a free. I'd also be looking at his teammate Cameron Burgess. He's in the same sort of situation as Luke, out of contract in summer. Big lad, left foot, decent in the air. Would be an ideal replacement for Robbo.

If we are just looking at a short term loan deal for a CB, I'd be inquiring about Adam Webster at Brighton. Unlikely, but worth a shot.

According to Transfermkt, Ipswich have a year's option on both.

Hopefully he will be one we will look at again in the summer. Like him as a player and a decent age too.

According to Danny Hall, Ipswich aren’t letting him go

“The Star has been told that Ipswich will keep Woolfenden in Suffolk ahead of a crucial second half of the season”
no major suprise given their position i think it has to be harry darling coming in now and that would give us gilchrist anel darling and robinson for centre back weve now got options all over the pitch and will at last have a bench with players on it that can change games in the last 20 top 2 is very much back on imo

Apparently asked to leave Ipswich, would be a good signing if we could.
If he's asking to leave, isn't it much more likely that he believes there are PL options out there for him?
It would seem rather illogical to ask to leave to join a Championship rival given last seasons investment in their squad and the parachute payments they have.
The only thing I that would make sense would be if he was still on a shitty contract, but he renewed his deal in January so it isn't that.

Lack of playing time apparently, would be first choice at United. No idea what he would cost etc

That seems very likely. Looking at transfermarkt for last season, he only featured in 6 of Ipswich's last 17 games. 8 times he was an unused sub, the other 3 he wasn't even in the squad.

A CB who can fill in at RB. Not a bad option to have to help fill out the squad. If we were to look at signing him, I assume it'd be to start alongside Bindon? I know very little about him besides having signed him once on Football Manager, so not a clue if he'd be any good for us.

Ipswich will piss it this season.
They could just as easily do a Luton who many thought were set up well for the Championship. As they found out and so did we, when momentum goes, funny things can happy to a side.

I agree they'll more than likely be up there, but this season more than any other I don't think there are any clear clear favourites to go up and a lower than usual points score will get you in second due to everyone taking points of each other.

Glorious playoff failure for us again. I'm very excited.
