He’d round out the CB room quite nicely Zatterstom and this lad for the future/ next few years, Tanganaga and McGuiness in their prime Mee as the old head in the group.

If we could hopefully add Bindon on a permanent as well to complement that then you’d have the foundations of a very competitive and hopefully stable group of CB’s for the long term with the potential to loan the younger lads in the group and academy lads coming through out as well if that was viewed as beneficial for their development.

McGuinness is in his prime?!?!?

He is from an age/squad building point of view at 25 as a CB he should be entering the prime of his career.

Whether he’s good enough to be a starter for where United want to be probably not but as a depth player in the squad he’s adequate. You wouldn’t want him to be having to start for extended periods but as emergency cover and the first player youngsters have to outperform in training to stake the claim for a spot on the bench he can fill that role.

We can only sell McGuinness to a club in a league with a wholly different calendar (eg Scandinavia or the MLS) as he's played for Cardiff and us this season.

EDIT: the MLS might be an option for him as the standard is about right but they tend to save the bigger salaries for forwards.

oh right didnt know that were stuck with him then hope he proves me wrong but cant see him being a first choice centre back at this level unless we decide to go with a back 3 for any games

Read this and thought why are we signing Stockport Georgians' back up goalkeeper?
